We recently bought a house with Homes by Avi. We had the pleasure of working with Vanessa Yutang during our home search, and can’t recommend her highly enough! From the moment we reached out, she was incredibly professional yet warm and friendly. She made us feel at ease right away, always approachable and willing to answer any questions we had—no matter how big or small.

What really stood out to us was her ability to explain everything in detail, making sure we understood every step of the process. Whether it was about the homes we were considering or the logistics of buying, she was always clear, patient, and thorough.

Vanessa is also super flexible and accommodating. She was quick to respond to our calls and texts, and it didn’t matter what time of the day it was. It made the whole experience so much smoother knowing we could count on her for support whenever we needed it.

Overall, we are looking forward to moving into our new home, and couldn’t have asked for a better person to guide us through this journey. Thank you, Vanessa!

Shout out to Homes by Avi team, particularly Nancy and Carrie for taking care of us in our journey to building our forever home at The Orchards.

Both of them were very kind and understanding to our needs and wants. From identifying the model of our home, layout, floor plan, windows and doors, exterior colours and even the details of mechanical components (hot water tank, HVAC, etc) - all of our questions were answered and explained very well.

Concerns that we thought were setbacks, were addressed and things turned out well. 5-stars for Homes By Avi!

Terrible Builder. More than happy to take my money, plus a premium, with no extra warranty. Endless issues with this house, Site supervisor didn't monitor the trades at all, everything was done very poorly.

14 years into home ownership I'm out of pocket $22k for new windows because the ones avi supplied aren't sealed anymore, and develop a ton of condensation during winter and have for the last 6+ years. They were also very poorly installed. Mold everywhere.

AVI never fixed my stained ceiling from a leak in the roof even when it was under warranty, same with a cracked tile on a set of steps.

BOTH of My 240V outlets were wired out of phase.Electrical Outlet on the kitchen island moves about. Some of the electrical wires are run without strain relief.

Had a sewage backup in the first year of owning because the builder swept drywall debris into the 2nd floor bathroom drain.

Also out of pocket $2400 for attic insulation because mine had somehow "settled" down to R13 from the code requirement of R30.

I almost forgot one of my favourite discoveries down the road. My Corner tub with tile surround, AVI's tradespeople didn't rest the tub on the tile surround and support from underneath like you're supposed to. Instead the tile is cut to the outside edge of the corner tub, and my tub is balanced on some 2x4's and held in place with some silicone. Avi also didn't connect the overflow on the drain properly (found out years later)

All around such a low effort house build. While commanding a premium price. They didn't care about quality then, and they sure don't care about doing the right thing now.

Avoid this builder.

Once you buy your house, Homes By Avi doesn’t care about you and will deny any wrong doing.

They fail to meet seasonal timelines, give any sort of updates / guidance and use low grade landscaping contractors.

Further, they don’t honour New Home Warranty whatsoever. 1 Year Product Defects and Labour? Goodluck. Attached is a picture of our SPARE bathtub that’a never been used. (Note: You can’t see the crack with the naked eye from a standing distance.)

As it’s Christmas and well be having guests use the bathroom for the first time, I went to give it a clean from the settled dust and noticed the cracks.

It’s been 6 months in the house and Homes By Avi is refusing the honour their work and insulting my intelligence before I leave to Europe for the next 6 months.

Really shows how much they care about you and the quality of their products / work.

They claim they can’t confirm the cause of the cracks, a crack like pictured doesn’t magically happen without improper installation or poor product quality.

There’s much better builders in the city, don’t go with one that won’t honour their work and respect your time and money.

For prospective buyers : If Homes By Avi won’t honour small issues like this, do you really trust them to hold their end of the bargain if something big goes wrong with your investment / livelihood? I certainly wouldn’t have faith at this point.

Homes by Avi made buying our first home a stress free experience. Almost too easy! From Kellen and Charlotte, to Kelly who helped us with our selections. Everyone was friendly and quick to answer any questions. They always kept us updated and walked us through our home during the process. Not to mention the quality of the work put into the house and the finishing work. We couldn't be any happier with the whole process!

Attended a showhome at one of their events and I will say that their employees are super respectful, helpful and overall kind people. There were nice complemtary gifts for all guests as well has informed workers who seemed genuinely interested in helping us out. As for the homes, the interior design served it's purpose in helping homeowners envision their use of the space. Overall, very innovative ideas implemented in the design of the homes they offer and would not hesitate to reccomended to anyone seeking to buy a home, or at the very least get a feel as to what they are looking for in a home.
