LORENA GETS 4 STARS NOT CURRENT MANAGEMENT!!!!

Lorena the old building manager was perfect at her job was always on top of keeping the place nice and hearing what people who lived there needed. We miss her and I’m sad to see all her hard work slowly become undone due to new management being neglectful. The new management we have now is trash they don’t listen. They are never here. They give no help or info and many of us who do live here. I have 8 texts at a time going ignored and I feel like I’m a bother to new management when I’m just asking basic questions.

I do live here and they dont even bother to remember

I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience regarding the management of Parkland Apartment complex. Having Lorena’s dedicated presence on-site 24/7 is a rarity these days, and I feel truly fortunate. Any concerns or issues are promptly addressed, and since my building manager took over, the complex has undergone remarkable improvements. I attribute this transformation to Lorena's tireless efforts, which have created a haven of beauty and safety. BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS! March 9th 2025

When reading these reviews, please note that all 5 star reviews are about previous management with exception of the 5 most recent which are from people who are or were members of new management company or bots & do not live here, that's misleading & have been reported to Google. Also check Google reviews on Prospero International Realty....definitely recommend the read. No wonder our "manager" Laurie is the way he is..... he meets Prospero's standards & requirements (rude, obnoxious, condescending & unhelpful)!

Since my last review on March 1st 2025 here we are!
Police are here almost daily (5 to 8 cars at a time), even the police say it's the worst it's ever been here! Most incidents are related to new tenants that Prospero have rented to & they don't care.

When I moved here 5.5 years ago, it was a slum, bug & rat infested, homeless people sleeping in the lobby, stairwells & hallways defacating in public areas & regularly broke into apartments.
, not to forget, drug dealers galore. I can't even describe how bad it was!
The first managers I dealt with did ZERO maintenance & repairs & robbed the owners blind.
The second was a money grubbing crook who tried to evict everyone so he could renovate the apartments & charge more rent & he robbed the owners blind as well.
The third was a contractor who had no experience whatsoever in property management & didn't even want the job. He cared only about renovations.
The 4th Manager was (is until December 1st, 2024) Lorena, now she is a true, efficient, ethical & caring manager who had both the tenants & owner's interest at heart. She was able to get the bug & rodent problems under control & rid the building of undesirables such as drug dealers, thieves, & homeless people.
Amazing manager.
Being a very il & handicapped senior, I can honestly say that I finally wasn't ashamed to call this building my home & felt safe knowing how lucky we were to have her as our on-site manager.
Now that the building has been sold & an off-site management company will replace her, I fear that the building will revert back to the way it was. I honestly believe that letting Lorena go is an enormous mistake on their part.

It's sad that I was right. Prospero is the new management company (if you can call them that) have an off-site manager who is rarely here, doesn't answer calls or texts. When you finally get ahold of him, his answers are aloof, and he is rude. Building & grounds are poorly maintained, there are signs of rats again and homeless druggies are all over the building and passed out in the lobby with their paraphernalia in plain view. . I could go on & on.
I have read the "Owner" responses to tenant reviews. They are laughable. They clearly don't know who lives here. There is 1 good review that was posted by someone who works/worked for the management company & does NOT live here, clearly a conflict of interest & misleading. Definitely not what I call "top tier management!

To whom this may concern… I grew up in Duncan bc and when I was a teenager , I had a friend who resided at the Dobson apartments!… this was around the year 2000. I would visit frequently and on many occasions, a rat would scurry by, and also seen cockroaches on the walls and elevator walls every time I visited!… long story short, I moved to Alberta for 15 years, and eventually decided to move back to Duncan!… it was hard to find a place to live , but then I seen that there was vacancy at the Dobson apartments!…. All I could do was remember the past experiences when visiting the Dobson apartments, and not to mention the dozens of ppl that warned me that it was a slum hole!… I was told that it was cleaner to live in a box on the side of the road than live there!….at this point I had no choice but to go check it out as there weren’t many places available for rent in Duncan!….THATS WHEN I MET LOREENA BUCKLEE!…. The dedication, heart and soul, and passion that she had in regards to the property and the residents in the building were shown to me in the first 5 minutes I met her!… the building was clean, organized and renovated!…. Lorena’s attentiveness in regards to me moving in, paperwork, lending me a dolly etc. was so welcoming!…. I recently heard that the new owners are going to let her go as the property manager, and I just wanted to let them know that they are making the biggest mistake in their life!… as new owners, you guys should know better then to try and fix what ain’t broken…. Lorena is a HUGE asset to this property, and I am honestly shocked that she isn’t even being considered as a part of your new team!… not only as an amazing property manager, but as someone who has worked her ass off and still does 24/7 no matter what!…. Good luck to the new owners, I hope you guys can pull it off!…. Just throwing it out there!

In the past few weeks I have had the absolute pleasure meeting the building manager, (Lorrienna) while moving a family member in to Parkland. It's clear by watching her interaction with tenants that she is well respected and very appreciated. She has cleared out the problem tenants and in doing so has created a wonderful community, I have never seen this in the past at any building. I'm heartbroken that the new owners are not keeping her on as an on-site building manager. I fear that this beautifully renovated building will go back to the slum it use to be. Foolish of the new owners to let her go, she is exceptional.

Since new management I would give Parkland place 0 stars but I don’t get that option…. Today my girlfriend and I were told our apartment would be fumigated. We got told the wrong date. The new manager neglects and ignores the issues of people who live here. And ignores his phone. It takes my gf 5 times before he picks up. And the OLD manager is the one who told us the correct date and sorted it out. VERY UNHAPPY WOULD NOT SUGGEST MOVING IN UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

My name is Jackie I've been living in parkland place for 6 and half years, I moved in with nothing tne next day the fire happened so I only has a hoodie on and tand shorts we had evacuate for a week we moved back there were junkies and rats in the building apartment run by people who didn't care I'm also have special needs I'm learning disability so trust is a bif thing but I thought I can trust the people running the apartment.
I lost trust in apartment mangers then Lorena came she turn this building around. Now we have new owners I haven't anything done in my apartment in 6 years because I'd thought I wait till the renos are done they were but iv had crap jobs done in my apartment now you going to raise the rent when nothing is done . I hope you new owners are nice people and that your approachable .
So I hope you new owners are reasonable.
