LOVE living here. The views are amazing and the new amenity centre is amazing!! Cancelled my gym membership because it has everything I need including a sauna. 4 stars because you’re not allowed to bring guests which I understand it’s for the residents only but also kind of annoying if you have family from out of town!

Just got our car towed from parking on the street adjacent to the beach! (Over $300 to retrieve from compound yard in Kelowna and cost to get there!!!!!) Clearly this beach is NOT A PUBLIC BEACH but the signage is POOR! Would have willingly paid to park if signage was clear! Wouldn’t recommend coming here. Very pricey beach adventure clearly meant ONLY for the elite living there. Again. Poor signage. Would have paid to stay and visit. Towing a vehicle is a LOW BLOW!!😞Not a great welcome to the area. Spend some $$ on better signage. Isn’t giving your neighbourhood a great reputation. Will certainly share our more than negative first experience!!

I was visiting somewhat out of the area, approximately a 10 minute drive away from "McKinley Beach" and googled "near restaurants" I found the Beach House pizza place in McKinley Beach, I drove there to order and pick up a pizza figuring it would be nice to support local and see a place I've never been to...I drove down there and found that there was no available parking so turned around and went back up the switchback hill and found a parking place that had no yellow curb and no STREET SIGNS saying NO PARKING.... So I parked and walked all the way back down the hill enjoying the view of some new scenery and ordered my pizza and walked back up the hill only to find my car GONE😭😭😭 I promptly called down to the pizza place and asked who tows around there as there's no way it was stolen there were other cars with their windows wide open and was told Dakota towing....I called them only to be told that I needed a pass to park up there on a public street‼️ and that there are signs.... Well I went walking to find such signs and found a small 8x10 sign screwed to a wooden fence post saying Dakota towing‼️‼️‼️ NOT ONE STREET SIGN ON A POLE or anywhere in sight remember I do not live in this area not was I ever aware that I would a pass to park. This tow costing me $360 and all the guy from Dakota towing could tell me was to take it up with McKinley Property management. This is awful and I don't live in Canada's BEVERLY HILLS and can't afford something like this just for going to pick up a pizza. I am currently waiting for a return call. Also, judging by your other reviews, this is a common problem and I am quite disgruntled and very surprised that McKinley Beach property management hasn't done something to resolve this with their signage and to try to compensate the people that have been unfairly towed. I wasn't at the beach trying to frolic and play and spend the day somewhere I had no business being, I went there to get a pizza and support a local small business. Even the tow truck driver agreed with me because I had called him before they even had my car back at the yard, meaning I was parked there for a very minimal amount of time‼️

I received a boot on my vehicle after parking at the beach with a permit for the neighbourhood. The signage is ambiguous not stating that there is a specific permit other the than the ones issued by the neighbourhood required to park at the beach.

The tow truck driver, who was the owner of the company, was extremely rude and unprofessional. The amenity manager at McKinley was unsurprisingly not helpful considering he is buddies with the owner of the towing company. McKinley’s amenities manager accepted fault for the unclear signage by issuing a 50% reimbursement for the fee to have the boot removed from my vehicle. He wouldn’t reimburse me fully because “it would open a flood gate of requests from other residents” who are presumably having the same issue. Overall, a shady way to do business and treat residents of the community.

We took my wifes father here to look
at properties
We went down to check out the
beach (BY FAR THE WORST BEACH
IN THE OKANAGAN) came back to
our vehicle 30 minutes later to have
it being lifted by a tow truck.
We tried to reason with the tow truck
driver and a disgruntled McKinley
employee (who is obviously in on this joint SCAM) who was yelling and pointing at signs that did not exist.
They would not drop our vehicle and
made us pay $170 SCAM fee.
They pretty much held my 7 month
pregnant wife and us hostage in
36'c heat until we paid their
SCAM fee.
What a RACKET they're running!
And after reading the reviews, you're not just ripping off the public, you're ripping off your own property owners.......
This is a SCAM you would think to see in a 3rd world country 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I received NOTICE on my car which stated RESIDENCE ONLY parking when I was leaving the beach. The lady who put the notice on my car said there were signs all over, to park where indicated, and walk down on the train system. There was no signage at the beach and the parking notices on other roads was ambiguous. I drove around and I still don't know where to park.

This review is in regards to the "amenities" coordinator. Do not rent in this area, you will not be considered a resident and will not have access to the areas you're community is, or rather, your landlords community is in. You're expected to pay the Mckinley price, but not be given the perks. A legal suite with a separate address and placard is not considered a separate household in the coordinators eyes, they do not inform each household of this and instead when you go to enjoy the beach you pay extra to live close to- you'll be told you need a permit. Which you will not be given. I'm assuming this same illogical planning will apply to the courts and garden.
