A return to the M.S Kenora was a perfect way to spend my birthday, thanks to my husband planning it! The boat cruise is a fabulous way to learn about the amazing history and folklore that is part of Lake of the Woods and the city of Kenora. The tour takes about 2.5 hours and we enjoyed the options to have dinner which was also good. Chicken with mushroom gravy and schnitzel were the options. Good size portions and flavorful. They might need to update the tour recording to remove the Blue Heron as a shopping recommendation, but so much of the information they give about the lakes history! We thoroughly enjoy it each time we’ve gone!

Pictures wont be able to give justice to what we’ve experienced. It’s a beautiful experience. The breeze, the sun (I got tanned a little bit but it’s totally okaaay), and the sight plus the lore. I defo recommend doing this when you’re in Winnipeg. It’s a 3-hr drive. If you’re early for your schedule, you can just walk around town or just hang by the dock. It’s a beautiful small town and folks are very friendly. I would love to do the cruise again in fall.

It was a beautiful trip. Commentary was great. Food was good, though they served on paper plates. Roast beef was amazing. Pleasant way to spend an evening!

Had been wanting to do this cruise for many many years and my son made my wish come true ❤️ we had such a fun and exciting experience , everything from start to finish was wonderful, kids enjoyed it as much as us adults, we will definitely be going back ❤️ 😊

I went on a cruise last week and while the overall experience and most of the staff were great, one server completely ruined it for us. She was a short height girl serving food on the lower deck, and her attitude was shockingly rude. We ordered a can of Pepsi and instead of handing it over politely, she slammed it down on our table — so aggressively that even my husband was taken aback. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. Later, we asked her for napkins and waited over 15 minutes while she wandered around ignoring us. When she finally returned to bring the bill, I reminded her, and she casually said, “Oh, I didn’t give them to you? I’m so sorry,” like it was no big deal. If you’re in customer service, basic courtesy is part of the job — and if you can’t even manage that, maybe you shouldn’t be dealing with customers. This kind of attitude takes away from an otherwise enjoyable experience, and I really hope management addresses it before more guests are treated the same way.

That said, I truly recommend others to go and enjoy the cruise trip. The views, the vibe, and the rest of the crew were absolutely worth it — it’s a great experience and you’ll feel so, so good. Just hoping they take better care when it comes to who’s interacting directly with guests. I am giving 5 stars for the warm hospitality of other staff.

During mid-July to early September, I traveled throughout Canada on an extended road trip. This cruise on Lake of the Woods was one of the highlights of my trip.

As someone who lives in southern Ontario, I had no idea how beautiful Kenora and the surrounding areas are. If you enjoy nature and/or boat rides, then I would highly recommend this cruise.
