This place is absolutely beautiful. Everything is new, beautifully furnished, impeccably, clean, all of the soaps were high-end and amazing, the bed was perfect. The couch on the deck with the gas fire pit overlooking the marina was the most beautiful place to spend our evening hours with a glass of wine.

Poor facilities and unreasonable follow-up treatment, not recommended for stay

Although the house is marked with two bathrooms, only one is actually functional. The drainage of the shared bathroom was seriously blocked, and we even took the initiative to dismantle the drain to clean the blockage, which should not be handled by the tenant. The water pressure in the master bathroom was extremely low, and it was almost impossible to take a shower normally, resulting in us having to share a bathroom throughout the trip, which was very inconvenient and a waste of time.

After leaving, we received a message from the landlord, accusing him of multiple damages and cleaning issues, but most of them I think are unreasonable. For example, the greasy baking tray and stained towels are normal wear and tear, and the items themselves are not brand new. We have honestly admitted that the decorative tray was accidentally broken by our children and are willing to compensate for this part, but the rest is unacceptable. The landlord's issues include:

1. There are some oyster crumbs on the terrace floor.
(I think this is the responsibility of the cleaning staff)

2. There is an oyster smell in the house.
(This is a very subjective issue. If I cook curry indoors, will I be blamed for it?)

3. Put oyster shells in the blue recycling bin.
(We have wrapped them in garbage bags and put them in the blue bin and placed them on the balcony to prevent leakage. This is because the garbage bin in the house is too small to accommodate them)

4. Burnt baking tray.
(It is a normal sign of use)

5. Stained bath towels.
(Normal signs of use)

6. Damaged decorative tray.
(We acknowledge and are willing to compensate)

However, the landlord charged us nearly $300 CAD for cleaning and damages for points 1 to 3. After unsuccessful communication, Airbnb intervened. Disappointingly, Airbnb did not understand the situation in detail and asked us to pay the full amount just because we did not take photos to keep evidence. Fortunately, our credit card number was changed due to theft, otherwise this fee would be directly deducted.

If the host wants guests to deep clean before leaving and do the work that the cleaners are supposed to do, then this should be clearly stated in the property description beforehand, rather than asking for compensation after check-in.

We also put the dishes in the dishwasher and started it before leaving, because we understand that dishwashers take time to clean. We did our best to keep it clean.

If you plan to book this place, please be aware that:
You may need to avoid cooking indoors and try not to use items in the house unless you can ensure that everything is in good condition; more importantly, you may need to do the work that the cleaners are supposed to do before you check out, otherwise you may receive a confusing bill.

Spent 5 nights enjoying the beautiful condo on the harbor. Spectacular view through floor to ceiling windows, large balcony, table and chairs for outdoor dining, comfortable sofa and gas fire pit with built-in ignition. The pictures are accurate with a well equipped kitchen, all stainless cookware. No outside grill. It has a Kierig coffee maker but we like a press so we brought our own. All appliances are great and we loved cooking all our meals there. Qualicum (30 minutes away) has a great grocery store, bakery and deli that is stocked with small size items for travelers. Washing machine and dryer work great and saves having to pack so much. Linens soft and good selection of pillows. Bed comfortable for people with back issues. 5G WiFi. Easy keyless access. Great security. Nice rain shower in the bathroom. Friendly staff.

Had a fantastic stay here over the long weekend. Loved the view, amenities and peace and quiet. Very modern, brand new rooms. Highly recommended!

Rooms are clean and spacious, our family has stayed multiple times now and we love it. We stay in units 110 or 111 which are 2-bed and den and the balconies are huge with a cozy outdoor couch and fire bowl which overlooks the marina. It’s very peaceful. The full kitchens make cooking from your room a breeze, and the onsite restaurant and cafe are very good. They also have a golf course up the road so if you’re looking for a weekend away and a round of golf this is your place. Also lots of trails for hiking and beach access down the road.

Fantastic accommodations in a beautiful setting, right on the ocean. We always have such a great time staying here! Having Nanoose Bay Cafe right next door is so convenient too for morning lattes and fun celebratory dinners with friends. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway or an adventurous weekend of golf, hiking, and more.

We just spent another 10 days at Fairwinds. We were in a two bedroom with den oceanfront and it was lovely! Such a large, clean, comfortable space with exceptional views. Blake and Alex took excellent care of us, as always! This place is such a great location being on the water, near our boat, and close to tons of trails right from the front door. Everyone at the Residences, Marina, and Cafe are super friendly and accommodating (thank you Blake, Alex, Lindsay, Rowen, Shae). The restaurant is still working out some kinks, but it’s awesome being able to walk down the hallway to a beautiful venue. We also grab a coffee from the cafe each morning. We continue to bring a bin full of cooking items (spices, oils, cast iron) but we love to stay in and cook, as well as host friends, after a day of fishing. We love this place and look forward to returning soon! Highly recommended and it keeps getting better!
