We mostly dealt with Ben but if he wasn't available he always made sure someone from the team was, which was usually Rory. Both Ben & Rory are very knowledgeable when it comes to the housing market and the ins and outs of buying a house. After a decade of living in an apartment downtown, I decided to purchase my first home. I was looking for a decent house on a large enough property to accommodate myself and a couple of dogs that I was bringing from overseas. I also work in Ottawa so I didn’t want too long of a commute.
I began working with Ben in January 2024. From the beginning I was struck by Ben’s professionalism, his kindness, enthusiastic demeanour and his real estate savviness. We visited properties throughout the summer, fall and the following spring. Ben never faltered in his optimism about me finding the right property but also remained realistic about what would meet my criteria. This meant that I would be looking at country properties. Ben’s knowledge in that area was indispensable and I learned so much from him about country living (for example being on well water and having a septic tank).
Although I ended up a bit further than I’d originally planned, I was able to buy a lovely fixer upper with tons of potential on about an acre of land, surrounded by nature and in a neighbourhood filled with kind people. Without Ben’s guidance and encouragement, I don’t think I would have ended up with everything that I had set out looking for a year and a half earlier. I highly recommend Ben and his company, Key and Co. for all your real estate needs. You can’t go wrong with Ben, Rory and Jill’s technical savvy and humane approach.
