Our experience with Michelle at Town or Country was everything you’d want in a realtor and more. She took our wish lists (no easy feat with 3 very different adult minds) and made our home finding mission a success. Everyone we had contact with at the brokerage was beyond helpful. Our purchase and closing were smooth as silk. And we love our new home! Highly recommend!

I can't say if it was racism or simply a deep unwillingness to do the job, but Mike was absolutely frustrating. His attitude was rude, he didn't listen, the offer and all other forms were incomplete or with the wrong spelling, he didn't event take the time to read our identification documents, filled the representation form for 3 days instead of the time for closing, didn't answer promptly, in general, it was bad, the worst realtor service I have ever had, and this is not my first time buying, I put 1 because there's no zero. If you look for a realtor that treats you with respect and helps you with at least a minimum standard, look somewhere else.

If I could leave a negative star I would. Not that my review is going to make a difference or change what happened, but for any new potential clients - turn the other way when dealing with this place. I was the potential buyer of a home this brokerage had listed. The house was perfect, we fell in love immediately. We put an offer and were counter offered 5k right away, not a big deal but we knew there was no room for negotiating. Our offer was conditional on finance and inspection. The realtor said "our inspection passed with flying colours." Regardless of this comment, we decided to get our own inspection done. Let me tell you .. if flying colours were black..... Great job by the seller on all of the new renos however shame on JAY HARNETT, the realtor who didn't disclose or do his own due diligence on the lengthy list of repairs that needed to be done such as the foundation cracking, the poor insulation job in the attic with potential mold due to lack of ventilation from the bathroom, POSSIBLE ASBESTOS, foundation wrap on the outside of the home was completely peeled away from the home causing potential moisture to the basement, cast iron rusted piping, poor electrical amp service to the home, and the list just goes on. Not that the owner of the home knew this. Going into this deal, we knew this was an older home, so expected some renos to be done, but definitely not close to 30k. Taking a few steps forward, we signed a mutual release as the inspection report came back and we just weren't comfortable with the amount of things that needed to be replaced as first time home buyers. Jay's attitude went from 100 (nice) to 0 (rude), he did a complete 360 and blamed by own father for "killing the deal" for going into details on what the inspection report was all about. Jay was not only rude to our realtor, but he was rude to me, the potential buyer, and the bank tellers. I contacted Jay myself to ask when my deposit cheque would be ready for pick up and his answer was "its not that big of a deal." Anyways, I picked up my deposit cheque and received a HAND WRITTEN cheque back, not even certified, for what seems to be a petty excuse to make our lives difficult and salty attitude for losing a deal for the second time. While at the bank trying to certify the cheque, the teller called Jay to try and get approval to certify the cheque. Even the teller said "wow that guy is very rude." For someone who deals with the general public and, quote, has been in business for 14 years, should really have some compassion and common courtesy on dealing with clients considering that's your JOB!! I tried calling him myself MULTIPLE times, no answer. I tried calling the Broker of Record Dennis Horton MULTIPLE TIMES, and emailing him. No response from either one of them. Apparently their clients aren't their top priority. My realtor finally heard back from Jay and said "because you and I have HAD a good rapport throughout this process (until the deal fell through mind you), I'm responding to this because honestly I normally wouldnt." So now; because he can’t provide a certified cheque, we have to wait 5 business days for his hand written cheque to get verified which has no hindered our home purchasing process. Not sure what the big deal was on certifying the cheque, considering I myself, the client, went to the bank, and was going to pay for the certification myself. All the brokerage had to do was approve the cheque being certified so I could get the funds right away instead of 5 business days. But no big deal right? Quite certain if this was his money, and it was dependent on purchasing a HOME, it would be a big deal. Its crazy how someone’s attitude can turn so quickly when things don’t go their way. Perhaps not the right career after “14 years”. THANK YOU JAY, for doing us a great inconvenience. I would NOT recommend this BROKE-rage to anyone, hence their one review.
The customer service, and shadiness that falls behind everyone here is not only unprofessional, but rude, arrogant, and selfish. Ciao.
