Nothing but good things to say! We moved in during summer 2021 to a completely renovated 2 bedroom apartment. Stainless steel appliances, clean white cupboards, fresh paint.

I've had several positive experiences with the landlords and maintenance staff. A loose towel bar in the bathroom was fixed within a day, new caulking around the kitchen sink was done within days, I accidentally blew a fuse on a Sunday morning and, while not protocol, maintenance changed it for me and provided useful information on what to do when it happens in the future (tenants are to replace lightbulbs, fuses, etc), AND, we've had several issues with our upstairs neighbours and, due to the nature of the issue, the problems were promptly dealt with within minutes, even at 3am.

There has been a lot of updates to the building over the last few years which has made rent go up. While it sucks, the price of rent sucks everywhere, and it's a business, so I understand. I am happy to pay more to live in a clean, comfortable and safe building.

The only thing I find annoying is the amount of times that the water gets shut off for emergency maintenance, or when they come in to test the fire alarms, do inspections, etc. It feels like they are entering the apartment or shutting off the water at least once every 2 months. The water shut off is not an issue for me as I work 8-4, but I hate having to lock our cat away in the spare room for 8 hours while they come to inspect for a few minutes! Oh well, what can you do.

We are starting the process of buying our own home but are happy to have called this home the last 4 years and for the foreseeable future until we buy 🙂

Repairs will NEVER be completed.
I have been waiting since 2017 to have repairs done. If you ask for a workorder, your told they do everything verbally. In other words they don't want paper trails.

I loved the unit when I first saw it. But for some esthetic issues, I didn't think/know there were deeper issues. I signed my lease April 2017 but left the apt almost empty so as not to be in the way. I was told the unit would be cleaned and have a fresh coat of paint. 4mos later and $1000 for storage (over & above my rent), I gave up and moved in my belongings.

I've done painting.
I shampooed the rug.
I dealt with the pests.
I cleaned my stove/oven. It was disgusting.
I've complained about the stove many times. I was told "it could only be replaced with a smaller one (apt. size) but I need a regular size oven; I learned to deal with the issue - my roach mausoleum (Pic below)

I needed to remove the upper cabinate doors. The hinges were broken and would swing open. I smacked my head a few time (still have a dent top of my head from the last time. (I kept the doors; they cannot say I threw their property away). The cuboard doors are in bad shape. The drawers are old and swollen. I have injured myself a number of times. I lost the use of my right arm -.bilateral tendonitis - for almost 6mos. after pulling out the bottom drawer. (Pic below - but how to show the strength needed to pull the drawer out.)

My kitchen ceiling was/is falling. They patched the areas where the plaster peeled away bit it's never been completed. (Pics below)

I had a ceiling/roof leak over my fusebox (old screw-in fuses). I was told there is "nothing dangerous there. It's a sealed unit". They have since fixed the roof leak. The damage in my unit still waits for completion of repair. On an interesting note, I had a heart atack partly due to the stress I am experiencing. I told the super after I got home. Within a couple days he was here to plaster/patch the hole under the fuse box. But it's just a patch. The wall is not stable. The plaster will fail. (Pics below)

Light fixtures were "upgraded" before I moved in. (Pic below). Up until this month, Sept.2022, Skyline policy was to call the super if the light bulb blows. Now they say it's TT responsibiliy. I would not mind but these light bulbs are not typical bulbs that screw in. They are pronged like florescent rods and cost $8 each. When one bulb goes the all tend to go in the fixture. It costs $24+tax to replace the bulbs in the fixture in my kitchen and they do not last as long as they claim on the box. (Pics below)

There are many loose electrical receptacles. Some hang right out of the wall because they're not secured to a stud. (Pic below)

The list goes on. I have called the head office to make my complaint to customer service. They created a "ticket" to follow up on. They came to look at it - the end.

I called the fire Marshall who believe the problem I have under my fuse boxe only needed some paint- my word agaist Skyline - the end.

Now, but for the fact (and partly in Skylines defence) that my rent is fixed because a 3rd party pays half, I would have moved out years ago. Skyline still gets the full market rent on the unit. The 3rd party *Gateway Residential Servicess don't respond to messages, let alone renos needed. Thanks to the current economic climate, it's not likely I will be moving anywhere, anytime soon.

Overall experience with Doral Towers was negative. I completed an application form for a 2 bedroom apartment back in August. The two landlords, Cristy and Linda, reassured me that the apartment would be renovated in time before the move in date October 1st. Over the course of 2 months, I kept emailing them to see the progress of the apartment. They kept refusing me entry due to "safety concerns." I finally had enough and drove down to go see it. They let me in last week (September 20th) to see it. My gosh, was I ever shocked. Nothing was done. The old appliances were still left in the middle of the room, the old dirty and damaged windows and screen doors were still in place, and all of the borders were ripped out. The apartment still needed new doors, fresh paint and room hangars installed. The bathroom appliances weren't installed. They had 2 months to renovate this room. On top of that, the apartment hallway stunk of cigarettes, and the Tennant across the hallway had two big Doberman dogs off their leashes and playing fetch with them in the hallway. The landlord just told me of the apartment construction beginning right when I would move in. Overall, I will never lease an apartment from Doral Towers or from Skyline living. They are refusing to give my deposit back even though the apartment wouldn't have been ready in time. That is a whole paycheck down the drain because of their awful management and customer service. Terrible business.

The property owner just responded saying that my review is not acceptable. What a joke! How about having the apartment ready for your tenants for the move in date? How about giving the application money back to a tenant when they are not satisfied with the management or the room that you promised to lease? It is not my fault that the room wasn't ready. I am giving MY MONEY for a service and product. A customer has the right to ask for their money back if the service or product is not acceptable. Just to clarify, the application sates that it is up to the owner's discretion to give the deposit back. I gave you 2 weeks notice to find a new tenant. Therefore, you had no reason to keep my money. Shame on you! Again, stay away from this apartment complex and Skyline Living.

Building has been without any management or a real cleaner now for 5 weeks.Cockroach and bed bug infested,so advise you look elsewhere.Also stagnant,repulsive air in building because they refuse to fix the air flow system.Hallways have been about 100 degrees in months from May to October. Repairs being done ever are only a fantasy.Serious cleaning of carpets in hallways and every surface needing long overdue attention but receiving none.

My dad is thinking of moving in there for August 1st, but the reviews say there are cockroaches and bedbugs and their very Slow in repair Scares me Also, scince he is a senior citizen,the apartment is way over priced,he wouldn’t have any money left to eat! Shame on you,even charging him for parking not all inclusive,there used to be a time when seniors were respected and taken into consideration:(

Only cause I can't give zero. This building needs. A upper management that cares. Building could be one of the best. But has major health issues with bugs and the response and repair and of these issues gets low piriority. At the burden of tenants. Some how which are causing the issue no doubt. Which needs to be addressed. Too bad great location and nice size apartments.

Literally 2 years and not a single person has done any maintenance on my apartment. No matter how many emails to management and upper management and seeing them in person. Never bothered to even prime the walls for us. I dont reccomend skyline to anyone.

Love this apt building, so close to mall and numerous restaurants. Grounds are well maintained, as is the building. You can tell alot about a building upon entry, and this one smells fresh and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful, a big improvement from previous years
