Addison was so great to work with. We were picky and had a particularly long journey to purchasing our first home (a couple years). Addison never made us feel pressured or rushed and coached us through the rollercoaster up and downs. He is genuine in the advice he provides and clearly communicated the reasons behind the advice so that we were confident. TL;DR: Do it, call Addison, you want him on your side. In ~6 months of shopping independently and talking to dozens upon dozens of realtors, Addison was by far the most knowledgeable, helpful, honest, and professional agent we encountered, and I would not have my dream house without his help.

Here’s the thing… when my fiancée and I started house shopping, we wanted to do it on our own, without a realtor. Or, at least, I was opposed and my fiancée was supportive of my want to do it independently. Every listing we liked, we’d call up the listing agent, schedule an appointment, and visit the house. We met Addison at the 2nd listing we ever went to see, and what really struck us was his honesty and authenticity – sure, he could try to sell us the house (he was the listing agent after all), but despite us not being his client, he still cared about it being the right house for us. In this case, we liked the house, but the backyard was almost entirely taken up by a pool, and after we shared we wanted space for a dog and after sharing we weren’t specifically looking for a pool, he shared that he did not feel this was the house for us. We moved on, but did not sign up with him at the time.

Over the next 6ish months of looking at houses, my fiancée and I started getting frustrated. Every new house visit was its own challenge – sometimes, the realtor was unresponsive and challenging to schedule anything with, other times, they were a little too… “optimistic” about the houses and their flaws, would encourage us to ignore problems we saw or try to convince us they weren’t actually problems, or would simply just not know answers to many of our questions, never bothering to find the answer and follow up.

So, in hopes of making a more reliable home shopping experience, of having an honest, competent, and knowledgeable person on our side, and to create a consistent experience with every new home visit, I caved and suggested to my fiancée that we should engage a realtor. There was no debate, no second pick, we wanted to work with Addison and Addison alone. After nearly half a year since having met him and not having seen him since, and of the multitude of realtors we met in half a year of shopping independently, Addison was by and far the most professional, competent, and honest realtor we found. And thus, we reached out to Addison and signed a contract to work with him.

In the few months to follow (and glossing over a couple other houses that we liked), we found the second home that we absolutely loved – this time in our favourite area, with every feature that we hoped for, and the perfect blend of “in good shape, but a little ugly” to save on price while giving me a chance to do simple renos. However, it was right near to our budget, so any bidding war would instantly take us out, and the offer date was Monday (the house was listed Friday).

We scrambled to visit the house on the Sunday. I think Addison recognized that this could be the house for us, because after the visit we stuck around chatting for while to make a strategy. We refused to just start a bidding war and so had to be more creative in making a compelling offer. Our financing was very secure (we were well under our approved amount and had back up financing) so decided on no financing condition, and we hired an inspector to look at the house first thing the next morning so we wouldn’t need an inspection condition.

Well, if my review isn’t enough of a spoiler, they accepted our offer (which, after having reviewed all of the documents, I confirmed was not the highest offer). I have absolute certainty that we would not have our dream house without Addison’s help.
Addison not only knows houses (ask him about his own construction company) and the market (his own brokerage), but his integrity is what sets him apart. He genuinely wants to see you find your perfect house. I could not praise and recommend him more highly.

Where do I even begin with Addison! We spent months with Addison looking for our first home. Addison took us to see many houses before he helped us find the perfect home. He asked us what we are looking for, and he worked so hard to get us exactly what we wanted AND MORE.

He was so helpful not only in helping us find our first home, but with explaining the process. He would guide us on what to offer, what to expect, give his professional opinion, he really made home buying a fun and easy experience.

I knew Addison was the perfect realtor to work with when he walked out of a house one day and said “nope, I won’t let you buy this house. Too many issues. Onto the next”.
