Is this building still active? The doors to the court are locked. The front door is open, but there is no trace of a soul inside. The secondary door to the court has a sign that says "No Entrance; use other doors", which, again, are locked at 10:45 am on a Monday. The employees' private parking is full of cars, but again, I did not see a single sign of life. I called a phone number posted on a sign and listened for a long time to find out I needed option 5, which immediately hung up on you. So, I echo everyone else's grievances here: UCP seems determined to destroy everything we've paid for while distracting about wedge issues that have zero impact on a single Alberta resident.

Scumbag UCP has had the canmore courthouse closed for all normal usage (outside prosecutions) since covid.

Cant pay tickets. Cant do any front desk stuff.

Further proof UCP will be trying to steal your pensions.

Ive been the first person in the door, never had my name called and watched the judge issue a warrant while i was sitting in front of him (and the only person left in the room).

You'd think these people are on drugs.

This place is an absolute joke and so is its detachment and prosecutor. I hope this place gets shut down and these people lose their jobs because I am absolutely disgusted on how they treat people here. Acting like they’re above the law. Won’t talk to a person when they have all the paperwork to prove not guilty but won’t listen unless you have a lawyer plead your case. A single mother can’t afford 5 grand for a lawyer. You guys are a disgrace.

I received the ticket show the court schedule is May 18th. But when I came to Canmore. The Canmore court is not open on Thursday morning. It's so ridiculous

Nobody likes visiting a courthouse. The line ups are long, the tempers are flaring and to top it off, it's packed full of lawyers, police officers and potential criminals.
But objectively speaking, this particular courthouse has lots of free parking space, is clean and has a staff which does their best to accommodate you. Just make sure you go as early as possible because it can get crowded.

I’ve never experienced such an awful person in my life. I drove from Calgary with a broken toe and waited two hours to find out they didn’t have my paperwork. Once I got in there I told him the situation about my ticket (coming home from a funeral in BC of my brother in law who passed away at 26). He then proceeded to yell at me and tell me to stop blaming my problems on other people and didn’t even do anything with the ticket. I’m currently bawling my eyes out in the parking lot. I have never met such an awful person. I have never been treated so poorly.

I honestly hope that the man that was working today gets fired. He shouldn’t be dealing with any people.

Everyone was nice and professional. I had to wait quite a long time, about 4-5 hours. The whole process was hecktic but they had people going through the crowd making sure they were going to the right place. Just show up and be patient. Try and solicit some legal advice from the lawyers combing through there. They'll try to get to you in line as well before you stand. Use your judgement. Unless you have a lawyer telling you that you got this, just plead down. The whole thing, fairly or not, can be almost automated. They'll help you out with payment scheduling and volunteer programs if needed. I'm docking one star for outdated decor out of principal.

Also, come on. A courthouse built on railway ave? I got railroaded!

If I could give a zero I would. For a court to not even abide by the hours they have posted is not only unprofessional but should immediately nullify whatever ticket you're trying to appeal. How is one supposed to fight a ticket when no one is there to speak with/answer phones?
