My husband and I were relocating to the Comox Valley from Victoria and saw a listing we really liked. Andrea was the listing agent and we looked up her reviews and her clients gave glowing reviews, in particular the excellent help Andrea was in long distance moves. We were very impressed and wanted to have Andrea as our agent but were steered in another direction by our selling realtor. That direction did not go at all well. I called my realtor and asked her to put us in touch with Andrea. Within about 20 minutes of that call I received a text from Andrea giving me her contact information and letting me know that I could call her as soon as I was ready. I called her right away and had a great conversation with her in which she went over what we were looking for and was so reassuring that I went from feeling totally lost to knowing we would be just fine. We had some specific criteria, a short timeline, and a budget. Andrea began looking for listings that hadn't hit the market yet or had come off the market without selling to try to widen our options. She knew that we had already scoured all of the current listings so didn't waste our time sending us listings we had already ruled out. Andrea is the exact right level of communicative. She kept us in the loop with everything that was going on but was not in the least bit pushy. When we found a listing that we felt would be a possibility, Andrea dropped everything and came to the house to check it out. She had me on the phone as she went through it and determined it was worth a trip up to look in person. We came up the next day, tape measure in hand, and indeed the house worked for all our needs. Andrea was very good about coming up with a reasonable offer that would reflect the value of the house without risking the seller rejecting it out of hand. She also has built a great rapport with the other Realtors in the area and used her connection to negotiate a great price that both parties were satisfied with. Andrea also has a great knowledge of the available professionals in the area that were needed for inspections and attended each inspection and ensured that our interests were looked after. She went over each report with us and further negotiated with the sellers to ensure that the house was in a good state upon purchase. We were kept informed at each step of the process and Andrea took a process that started as extremely stressful and made it as stress free as possible. Even after the sale was completed and we had moved in, Andrea checked in to see how we were settling in and even recommended a farmer's market in the area that has great produce. I highly recommend Andrea as an incredibly capable professional who is so down to earth and comfortable to work with.

Short version: Andrea is a fantastic realtor that focuses on what you are looking for in a home. She will quickly bring to your attention anything that doesn't fit the bill and will make sure you don't buy a lemon! She's excellent at communicating promptly and works hard to meet your timelines.

Long version: I can't say enough good things about Andrea. She came recommended to me by a friend who boasted that Andrea was not the type of realtor that is motivated by making the sale. Instead, she is someone who actually cares about getting you into a home you will truly be happy with. In fact, it threw me off that she wasn't coaxing me into purchasing any of the places we looked at. She'd just state the facts and the rest was up to me. Andrea could have easily sold me the first place I looked at. I had only a month to find somewhere, so I was motivated to buy. Instead, she pointed out the black mould around the bathroom skylight, and in the kitchen, and was swaying me from purchasing a nightmare of home reno that wouldn't have fit my needs. She'd also mention things I hadn't taken into consideration like the proximity of one place to a main road that would produce lots of traffic noise from trucks accelerating up the hill, if I ever wanted to have windows open in the summer. This is the kind of thing I wouldn't have expected from a realtor. I think most realtors would glaze over those things or approach them with a can-do attitude, inventing ways you could try and put up with or mitigate those issues. Andrea had a realistic attitude of "This would probably bug the hell out of you. But it's up to you." She was able to meet the timeline I required, and got me into a home I am very happy with.
