Most unprofessional and underhanded person I've ever seen claim to be a property manager. I don't know why anyone would leave their properties in Gillian Ansell's care and I wouldn't recommend anyone to rent from her either.
Acorn has already picketed outside of her office and she is well-known to the Tenancy Board and Dalhousie Legal Aid.
Save yourself the time, aggravation and legal expenses and move on!

Her communication , attention to detail and genuine care for both tenant and home owner is unprecedented, especially when managing difficult situations.

I work as a nurse and took a shift off from work, leaving them short staffed at the hospital to view one of their units I was interested in. Viewed the place, submitted an application form, and then got an email saying the rent had gone up by ~$250 and asked if we were still interested. The extra ~$250 made it a terrible deal, and if I had known that price to begin with, I never would have wasted my time and canceled my shift at the hospital. I will be avoiding all their managed properties in the future and have told my friends to do the same.

I viewed 105 Hawthorn Street. I interacted with Merrill Rasmussen and CC Gillian Ansell on my email communication. I have an email confirmation of my application which was submitted on Jan 3 2023, Document ID(f85c42d50f408869f03a7dcb260329e6a0b0c924). I reached out then and got an email that basically just said "sorry were not allowed to give you any information". Please check your email from that time for context. I am not going to post my partners name publically here, see who is CCd on the email correspondence for that. What "missing information" do you think makes this situation right?

Also after checking my emails, it turns out it was actually a $300 price increase...

We've been clients of Ansell Property Management for several years now, and my only regret is that we didn't hire them sooner! From they outset they have made our rental property ownership so much easier.

Regardless of the situation, Gillian and her team have been able to handle it. From start to finish, they are real professional, making things easier for both the owner and the tenants.

They also have a great network of contacts and suppliers, so regardless of what is needed (from repairs and maintenance to new appliances) they know where to go for great service and fair prices.

Terrible communication. We had an appointment booked and confirmed for a weekend showing and the leasing agent ( Merill R. )failed to show up on time after we rushed to get there from out of town. She tried to reschedule the night before in less than 24hrs via email and did not wait for confirmation that we could reschedule. I tried to call when we got back to the city after seeing this email on the day of the scheduled appointment. She did not answer her phone but proceeded to email saying she was at other bookings and would be there soon. She was 45 minutes late to our showing. She had gone ahead and scheduled other appointments elsewhere during our previously agreed to appointment. We could have stayed out of town had we known she was so incredibly unprofessional and unable to keep her schedule straight.
This was a terrible waste of time.

Ansell Property Management has been very responsive to our needs as we complete 14 months away from our home. They found a reliable renter and vetted him. They have transferred our portion of the rent money to our bank account in a timely manner, and they have forwarded our mail upon request (sometimes with a tight timeline). When the microwave in our home broke they replaced it for us. Gillian Ansell has been extremely helpful and professional. I would recommend her and her team.
