My wife and I worked with Art Homes to create our custom built forever home. This started a few years ago at the tail end of COVID. Fast forward 3 years later and I can finally write a review to summarize our experience from start to finish. I want this review to help others when making a decision to go with Art Homes.

The level of customization that Art Homes has available is endless, so you truly can pick what you want, from layout, to upgrades, like open to above, or deck size, to finishing the basement or making it a legal suite. Before going and making a decision, do your research. Know exactly what you want before going in and making any final decisions. Art Homes will get what you want, but it's up to you to know what works best for you. Keep in mind that every upgrade's price may seem ridiculous, but it's not just the rise in cost of materials, it's the cost for a short supply of trades people they contract to build the homes. We decided to go for the upgrades that would be significantly more costly in the future (structural changes like installing a garage floor drain or extending the deck depth). Knowing what you want will save you time since Art Homes is busy and email correspondence back and forth can take longer than you may anticipate. This being said, they were flexible in accommodating modifications well after indicated on the final contract.

There was some frustration along the way, but I will admit, there was a lot that was out of Art Home's control. COVID really was a challenge for everyone, and this impacted the home building industry. This delayed things, but I am understanding because there is a lot of moving parts in dealing with so many complex issues, like scheduling and permitting. I feel that Art Homes did communicate as professionally as they could.

After we took possession, there were many deficiencies. Some were more pressing than others, but I will say that, with many back and forth emails with warranty, Art Homes did eventually complete and fix every deficiency. Arman (Art Homes Owner), even admitted, that COVID had an impact and their warranty department could be better than it was. He did assign Jo Chalal to clear any outstanding deficiencies and he was really a breath of fresh air. He listened and helped us clear up a couple of really outstanding deficiencies. There were times that I wondered if they would ever be cleared, but just be patient, they didn't forget about you. I found that I had to stay persistent and on top of things. This is your home, so it won't all just fall into place. We had to work hard to make sure we got the forever home we wanted, and we got it.

All that being said, there is definitely room for improvement. If you chose to go with a custom build, I believe that there should be a certain level of guidance and support that help potential buyers who don't have the knowledge and understanding of the whole process. This could make it a much more pleasant experience so that there could be a lot more stress lifted from the client. From what I know now, I know I could go back and make a few tweaks, here and there.

Ultimately, my family and I are extremely happy to be in our forever home and I want to thank Art Homes and the entire team for their efforts!

I recently took possession of my newly built home in Arbours of Keswick and wanted to share my positive experience working with the ART team.

I worked with Inderdeep Sandhu (Deep), Area Sales Manager at the Keswick showhome. He made our decision to build with ART very easy. Deep's time and effort in clarifying our questions, even before we committed to buying, was impressive.

As we opted for a custom build, Deep's explanations of what was included and his valuable suggestions were crucial. He detailed the costs of each addition and communicated them clearly throughout the process. The ART team was accommodating of our requests to revise and fine-tune the plan, even during the build stages.

The construction took less than six months, and we were kept informed throughout. We appreciated the standard three visits and the additional opportunities to measure and check specifics. Niki and Roop, the site supervisors, were also fantastic.

Regarding interior selections, the quality of the standard items is very good, and I appreciate the openness to customization. The costs for upgrades were reasonable, and I never encountered resistance to any of my customization requests.

One area for improvement is the number of selections in the Design Centre. We also experienced some confusion regarding selections, but open communication resolved most issues.

I would recommend ART Homes to anyone seeking a custom home with high-quality standard selections. More importantly, for a Sales team that genuinely cares about your dream home and priorities, I highly recommend meeting Deep and the ART team.

The site supervisor by the name of Nicki is completely horrendous. We live next to an Art Homes Construction site. Numerous occasions we have had materials and garbage all over our property, trades parked and blocking our driveway.
Today we had materials once again all over our property, I simply asked her to move these items off my property. She is very confrontational, rude and harasses the surrounding home owners.
I don’t know how this woman holds a job, nor how this company has customers that want to build with them with such a rude employee.

When I moved here to Edmonton, My realtor and I researched and visited many prebuilt and almost finished homes. I didn't see any that were perfect for me. We looked through a variety of neighborhoods. We finally came upon Arbours of Keswick. We walked into one of Art Homes's show homes. I fell in love with the design, a beautiful, striking, award winning modern styled home. I knew then what the plan was. I was going to purchase a lot there and have Art Homes build me a custom home similar to this show home.

Having built 8 homes in the past in Vancouver, BC, I was familiar with the process. The first person my realtor and I met was Deep Sandhu in sales. We found him to be knowledgeable, conscientious, professional, and thorough. He knew the answers, inside out and backward, to all the questions we had. He is definitely the best at what he does. Deep was also quick to return any email I sent him. He took us around to all the available lots until I found the perfect one. When It was time to design the home, the surprising thing was that a lot of the finer details and upgrades were included in the Art Homes package. I was able to stay very close to budget. The Art Homes team, Tania and Niki were also very fair and helpful throughout the designing and building phase. Deep is still to this day, my go-to person I call for any information or help with anything regarding my home. I absolutely recommend Deep and The Art Homes team to build your new home. I love my new home.

Worst builders if they are working around your house.

It sounds incredibly frustrating dealing with these builders. It’s reasonable to expect some level of cooperation and mutual respect, especially since you’ve already gone out of your way to accommodate their needs. Their insistence on moving your cars, despite already making adjustments, and their refusal to compromise by parking elsewhere, suggests a lack of consideration on their part. It’s important for them to recognize that the street is a shared space and not exclusively theirs for convenience. If their vehicles can block driveways without issue, then they should be more flexible in working around your parked cars.

Workers needs to learn some ethics rather than sending daily different people to harass public 😳😳😳

Our journey with Art Homes began in November 2023, and we had an amazing experience working with Deep, the sales manager. He is an honest, knowledgeable, and professional individual who was always quick to respond to emails and texts. At no point did we feel pressured to sign the contract, which made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. From the initial blueprints to the completion of construction, the timeline provided by Deep was 100% accurate ,and he gives u good discount
The interior selection process was also seamless. We found that most of the nicer finishes were already included in the standard features, so we didn’t need to upgrade much. Taniya Ahluwalia assisted us during this process, and she was absolutely amazing—professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.
Art Homes builds high-quality custom homes, and their dedication to customer satisfaction is evident throughout. We had three walkthroughs to monitor the progress of our home, and each one was a great experience. The possession process was equally smooth. After moving in, there were a few minor issues that needed attention, and the warranty department, along with site supervisors Roop Kumar and Ana Nicky addressed them promptly and efficiently. They communicated effectively and ensured the tradespeople completed the work in a timely manner.
We highly recommend choosing Art Homes to build your dream custom home. They are a reputable company that exemplifies professionalism and quality craftsmanship from start to finish.
