Oh my gosh. What a paradise and an amazing experience for someone looking to slowly dip their toes in the slow life and give it a try.
From the heating system to the porch, this place has a charm that is literally magical. The owner is amazingly kind and down to earth and honestly made the experience that much more awesome.
I've stayed here twice now and I'm sure it's going to become a tradition.

I liked the area very much but the management stinks. We paid a pretty high price for the place. It was pretty dirty when we got there, talking years of sticky grunge on the table. We did not realize that our small children would not be safe upstairs till we got there, there is a loft uptairs at the tiny dome with no railing. Why not tell us when I tell you the ages of the kids that are coming? The pull out couch was broken downstairs and I had to do a makeshift fix so our kids could sleep. The kitchen table had a broken leg that fell apart when I was sweeping. Luckily my kids were outside. screen door was broken, doors didn't open and shut well. I left the place cleaner than when we got there and was charged a cleaning fee (WHEN I WAS THE ONE CLEANING THE PLACE) . I told the manager about our problems and she said we would get a free night. Not only did we not get a free night, Jeff kept our $200 deposit for his brokendown cabin.

JEFF YOU ARE ON MY BAD LIST!

BEWARE!
Jeff, the owner, did not refund our money after saying they rebooked our cabin.
They promised us a refund and we even disputed it with our credit card company. He plays dumb.
4 months later, they rebilled us for $419.60 for two nights! They told us they refunded the amount, but they called and left a voice mail and not an email.
So, the story is: in December we booked a cabin for two nights. There was a huge snow storm and my Jeep had some issues and we were going to drive my husband's CRV. We live in Colorado and frequent the Salida area often. We were concerned that we could not get into the place because of the snow. They confirmed that we would need a 4 wheel drive to get to the cabin. I also mentioned that we had planned on skiing at Monarch and couldn't get passes because, although we are seniors and Ikon pass holders, we could not get a discount to ski.
Jeff reassured us that they rented the cabin and that they were giving us a full refund.
I wish I read the posts before booking this cabin.
We just left numerous voice messages, because they never answer their phone, and sent emails in regards to our refund. I don't care about a perfectly clean cabin, but if they are stealing people's damage deposits, something is wrong here.
Let's see if they ever respond to our vm and emails. My credit card company asked for evidence and these posts are good for me to submit as well as Trip Advisor reviews.

We talked to Jeff this morning, April 6, 2022, and he was rude and didn't care about the issues and said to contact the manager, Brent and Diane. He said he owns the place and he was working too hard to deal with it. Then he hung up and no one will answer all three of the numbers for Bunny Lanes. We disputed again with the credit card company and will include all the reviews about they rip people off with the deposit and the place is horrible, BAD Management! If they want to keep the $200 damage deposit, they should call it a cleaning deposit so it is legit.

What an enjoyable and relaxing place to stay. My wife said the cabin we stayed in reminded her of her Grandpa's Cabin, cozy and very much "home" feeling. Beautiful and relaxing setting, quiet and our place to stay for vacations to come. Our visit was for 7 days. Our 3 yr old daughter loved "the cabin", "when can we go back to the cabin".... and our host - Jeff, very approachable, friendly, informative about the area (he has lived in the area most of his life) and a great conversationalist, yet not intrusive during our stay.

Reading the "notebooks" within the Cabins from all the past visitors, very clearly so many have enjoyed their stays at Bunny Land Cabins as well. Some have happily repeated their visits every year for their vacations.

We highly recommend Bunny Lane Cabins and certainly look forward to our future vacation times here.

The stay itself was amazing! Cozy little cabins in a great location for hiking or just relaxing. My only trouble was in getting the deposit back.. which I never did. We left the cabin even cleaner than we found it and chopped extra wood and everything, but after 5 attempts at contacting every number and email I could find on the website to get the significant deposit back, I never got any sort of reply. As a grad student with a tight financial situation, that was pretty frustrating. So just make sure to pay attention to that and ask about it beforehand!

Our stay was amazing. Idk about the other people's review, but this is a cabin, not a 5 star hotel. We booked three cabins and we all had wonderful time here. Jeff is working hard to keep the place running and going. People gotta understand he's taking care of a big place, he cannot cater to everyone's demands at once, that's why he puts all those notes posted everywhere. And everyone staying should do their own part of cleaning up and keeping the place nice and tidy, now for some who can't do that maybe it's better for you so stay in the hotel. PS Jeff, we'll come back to pickup my sons luggage! ?

HORRIBLE!! Our cabin had a bathroom and kitchen sink but no running water. Have fun pooping in the woods! There were no sheets on the beds. One bed was a thin roll up mattress one the floor. They kept some of our deposit even though we followed Jeff's many, let's call it, "eccentric" notes. I never write reviews but I wouldn't wish the bad on myself Karma by not warning others

Mouse poop in drawers, exposed wires, dirty furniture (looks nothing like the pictures of the property - I don't even think that's one of the units for rent!). But that wasn't the worst of it. The owner was condescending and insulting in his communication with us and his reservation process was ridiculously antiquated and complicated. The location is beautiful but come on! Avoid this place. There's much better out there. I stayed in the "rabbit den" during summer 2014.
