This company presents itself as one that wants to find ways to engage with the communities in the areas where it hold ownerships. Yet is so far removed and out of touch with the actual communities its claiming to serve and while it “claims” that its mandates is to create affordable housing it refuses to engage with any members from the area to make lasting economic and social impacts. It’s a facade for a real estate company focused solely on their bottom line.

We engaged this company to bring a highly anticipated community event to a portion of their property which was 90% parking lot. Offered to pay money to lease, offered to make a donation to a community chairity of their choice on their behalf, met every single one of their insurance and liability needs, created a security plan, endorsements from city councillors and public figures. Even agreed to police presence … they kept us on a string for 2 weeks giving us yes and than no and than yes agains. They even had us go on site and tag the fences we need removed to make the event happen.

To than only come back and say that the have to deny us due to reputational risks, that if we were a non profit they would be more likely to engage with us even though they are clearly a for profit organization.

These companies do not care about engaging they are concerned about their reputation and turning profits while they hold spaces hostage and keep the ever growing reputation that Ottawa is boring going.

These companies do way more damage than good and if they are not making $ or making themselves look good nothing else matters.

They actually went backwards on our initial proposal that we donate money to the Ottawa food bank and instead decided that we pay them instead. Do you think they really care about building safe communities with strong businesses and economically sound progress if they would rather take money for themselves after agreeing to help donate to help with food security in the community

CANADA LANDS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE COMMUNITIES THEY CLAIM TO SERVE

On behalf of all the businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and creatives that push this city to flourish
Shame on you Canada lands … you are not welcome here

I've sent emails on multiple occasions for updates on projects but no response. Some projects in Ottawa going on 5 years with no updates.
