Greedflation Warning! Hope you want your monthly rent to skyrocket your next lease date after moving in. I guess they think everyone that rents an apartment is rich. Didn’t think I’d have to look for another place after a 1 yr lease. No wonder homelessness is rampant, it’s rents like these!

My experience with this company has been painful Not only did they raise some of their buildings rents by ridiculous amounts recently in a post pandemic money grab but I was promised a plumber a month ago and so far no plumber or contact from them.
I should also mention that they are converting their buildings to non smoking even though I have been a resident for several years and have never smelled smoke in the building. I'm a non smoker but tenants rights to do what they want inside their apartment are being taken away. They are doing this under the guise of a healthier environment but they've established smoking stations outside the building on the main sidewalk.
I wonder if Vaping will be next?

I find that, and "factually" true, majority of the people who leave bad reviews are themselves mostly bad people. They themselves find the need to slander and tarnish good companies, even leaving a bad review shows a look at the character of the people that are leaving it. A truly "good person" who was in the "right", would have turned the other cheek, and not have felt bitter, have felt the need to leave a bad review that I would guess 8 out of 10 of them are most likely false and the facts are definitely not all there. A good "person" who was "in the right" here, in my experience would have known the way to go about it and recovered the money allegedly "stolen", or "robbed", or whatever from you. All you people who left bad reviews learn to hit spell check and while you're at it, grammar check is one mouse click away from spell check. Sour tenants who were just looking to drop a Google review rating or mad contractors who either,
a) didn't finish the job
b) have the skills of a half blind pigeon
c) all of the above ☝☝☝
I am certain that is 100% true. I've had numerous dealings with Canadian Urban, over the course of a few years. I have had issues and they have always dealt with them. I have no bad things to say about them as a company or the people who are in or work for them. Canadian Urban buildings are well cleaned and maintained. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a safer, cleaner, more friendly place to stay. Canadian Urban is misrepresented by the rating.

I can not being to express how poorly this company is run. After spending 27 months they chose to not respond to my request to move to a different unit with any kind of urgency when my situation called for urgency. I even asked the on site manager and it still took ages. As per the on site managers request I gave them notice via e-mail that I was leaving the building after they had failed to respond to my request for 3 weeks (march 26th to April 16th). They tell me that my notice was not sufficient notice and they are charging me for May rent. Keep in mind this is all during a pandemic. They gave me a CRAZY list of clean out requirements on May 5th, which I had not even opened via email until the 7th, I cleaned the unit on the evening of May 9th, top to bottom, they still charged me for everything as if it was not cleaned, because unbeknownst to me they proceeded to do the walk through without me and prior to me cleaning it. They charged me for the garage openers and the keys and to rekey the property even though I had returned the items mentioned. Absolutely awful company, you would think after 27 months of renting that they would be satisfied and work with me, currently filing paperwork with the residential tenancy dispute service.

If I could have given them no stars I would have. They are completely unprofessional. Given the amount of poor reviews they already have, I don't feel the need to go into much detail of my dealings with them. I just want to warn people contemplating dealing with this company to steer clear. They are a bunch of liars and scam artists, with absolute intent to screw people over. DO NOT do business with them.

My experience with this company has been a nightmare from the start. The culture of the company seems to be the root problem, based on my dealings with the building manager I’m currently dealing with and with everyone else I’ve dealt with. Impossible to get ahold of, they never return calls, they’re rude, condescending, and dealing with them always feels like a battle. A good company would put themselves in their customers’ corner, this company does the opposite. We were also lied to by the building manager, and mocked when we called out the lie. All correspondence with them should either be recorded or have a paper trail.

Choose homelessness before choosing to sign a lease with this company, you’d be doing yourself a favor.

They are scam artists. Do no walk.... RUN away from any dealings with this company. They have screwed my brother in law out of tens of thousands of dollars. In a climate where small businesses are already struggling they're lies an neglect have caused an amazing local business to shut its doors. Absolutely do not deal with this company.
