Whatever you do - don’t rent from Colpitts ?

We gave our notice in April for June 1st. Colpitt emailed us several time asking if we could move out early so the new tenants could move in despite the fact we paid a full months worth of rent.

Whatever, we are nice people so we did it. Then, our landlords emails us the day of our move out inspection rescheduling to later in the day. Well, I have a job and my husband can’t drive - so we did not go but understand circumstances and just let her come when she could (which seemed to be at 9pm).

She then sends us a message at 9pm, saying the 20$ bidet attached during my pregnancy that needs to be UNSCREWED (thats it, just unscrewed) will be a 400$ charge. We offered to just take the 10 minutes to get it out ourselves - but we were only given a 4 hour window for tomorrow within 12 hours notice.

My husband has a life threatening (and potentially fatal) disease and we FINALLY are seeing specialist in the morning. This appointment is going to take hours.

We were told we had to cancel our appointment we waited months for or be charged $400. I get it - we forgot one little detail. But if you had showed up to the original time and let us know - we could of been there day of.

THEN - our landlord who offered to clean the house for a crazy amount of money that she already made us sent over - told us she had not cleaned despite making us send the money 24 hours ago.

She let us know she would not be doing the cleaning and basically threatened us that “whatever is not cleaned closely will be charged”.

Crazy in a world where rent cost thousands of dollars - that companies still want to take more and more despite us being perfect tenants!

Update on my review - despite being told our unit would be unlocked and given back to us to clean ourselves because she chose not too after we paid her - SHE NEVER SHOWED UP. So we had to pay a second cleaner for no reason again who was there TWO HOURS after she was supposed to be there.

We rented a townhouse from Colpitts for two years and it was a great experience. Maintenance was always super helpful and prompt and Mandy was awesome to work with - always helpful and responsive, even after we’ve moved out. The unit was nice and clean when we moved in and overall a great place to live. Only reason we left is because we outgrew the townhouse and were ready to buy a house.

lived in one of their new townhouses (we were the first residents) for 2 years, it was...interesting. looked nice, but about 80% of the doors in our house (interior & exterior) were just weird. some didn’t latch, some were crooked so the top of the door rubbed against the frame & wouldn’t close properly, all of the pins were coming out, etc.. also, some of the walls only had 1 uneven coat of paint on them & it was very noticeable.

mandy was nice.

Los mejores apartamentos para los que migramos a esta provincia, son muy empáticos para poderte ofrecer rentar en ellos. Los apartamento son de tamaño regular, pero lo compensa su adecuación interior, precio y aislamiento de sonidos contiguos.
