When my father bought the house I was raised in, he insured it with CoOperators in New Westminster. After he died, I carried on dealing with them. My house has had a policy with this company since 1974 and we've never had a claim. I've just ended a 46 year business relationship.

Over the past 18 months I spoke to them about a new roof I had installed. They sent me an updated statement. It was wrong. I called to correct it. They never amended the paperwork. But what they did do was call me frequently at work, asking about home inspections and 'have we told you about coverage for x....' It was annoying in the extreme.

Today, I got house insurance for a thousand dollars less than what CoOperators was offering. I used a company called Western Coast Insurance. If you prefer a company where the people on the phone have a tenuous grasp of English but won't let that get in the way of them trying to upsell you their latest more expensive coverage, then by all means, use Stokholm Insurance. Otherwise, I'd suggest you go elsewhere.
