Dan helped us buy our first home 5 years ago. When we were ready to look for a new place; we chatted with Dan about what we were looking for and the email viewing started. We found a place we really like sooner than later and Dan had a professional come in, take pics and our place was on the market with lots of interest. Oh my goodness, where do I start? I would rate him zero stars if that was an option. We viewed a property with the listing agent and wanted to make a deal on it. The listing agent put us in touch with Dan who came and wrote the deal. When it came time for possession we noted that the face of the electronics on the stove was falling in and we told him that this was an issue. He gave us keys but no mail key. When we asked about that he said he would have to ask for it and he would get it to us. Later he contacts us and says it is at the office and we can swing by and pick it up. Then he wants to come over and 'fix' the stove himself, because, and I quote, "he feels comfortable doing that and is doing this out of the goodness of his heart'". Are you kidding me? Is it not his job to ensure we have the keys upon possession? Why is it up to us to ask for them, and then when we point it out it is now up to us to go and retrieve them? What great service! As for the stove, he tells me that he has picked up a 'repair kit' to glue it back in, yet when I phone a licensed repair shop they tell me they would never just glue it back in place as there may be wiring and or supports that are compromised. When I request that a professional look at the stove he tells me that I would be responsible for the cost. When I point out that contractually the place needs to be in the same condition as when we saw it, he starts back peddling, saying that he couldn't for sure say it wasn't like that and now that possession has already taken place it is too late. When I pointed out we noted these things as issues at possession he says we should have said something before he bought the 'repair kit'. Way to advocate for your client Dan!! Why wouldn't you want to ensure the stove was safe to use for your client, and wouldn't just fall apart again after your glue dried out? Beware to anyone who chooses to use him as a realtor!!!
