En outre, Deol fournit des raisins excédentaires à d'autres caves de l'île. Well worth adding to your wine tour. Deol features a modest tasting room situated on a 23-acre vineyard where they source 100% of their grapes. They provide their excess grapes to other Island wineries. Offering a full selection of whites and reds and a rose, these wines are among the best I’ve tasted on the Island. Giving them an edge, however, is their prices -you won’t find a bottle over $20.

The last of three wineries our group visited, Deol was a disappointment. The venue is more like a side of the road farm stand. The server was unable to tell us anything about the wines we were sampling and some of the wines tasted like they had gone bad. There was also a loud shotgun-like noise every 15 minutes that negatively impacted the winery atmosphere. I would not recommend this place.

Very unique vineyard. They apparently produce a lot of grapes that they sell on to other wineries and only make small amounts of their own wine. Every wine we tried was pretty good. The Gamay rose in particular was lovely as well as it’s sister red wine. The wine was priced really cheaply which was a bonus.

The tasting room area is basically an old barn and it has very chill laid back rustic vibes which might not be everyone’s cup of tea. They also had a couple of cute goats!

We were disappointed in the wine here, and the tasting experience. The wine is cheap though ($15-$23), so if that is important to you it may be worth checking out.

After four days of hiking from Victoria to Duncan via Lake Cowichan, and flirting with the winery's closing time within ten minutes, the kind folks at Deol Vinyard were more than welcoming to my (tired and thirsty!) friends and me. With the intent of simply grabbing a couple bottles of wine to share for dinner, we were so fortunate to enjoy tasting the delicious array of wines. The host was so pleasant, hospitable, and very knowledgeable. I absolutely recommend paying a visit to Deol winery the next time you're in the Cowichan Valley. Cheers!

We came up island for our bachelorette weekend in Cowichan to visit some wineries. Stopping by Deol Vineyard we were warmly greeted by the women running the store front. She was super knowledgeable and made the tasting fun and relaxing.
You can tell they really care about their product and the history and processes they use.
- and the goats are to die for!!
Thank-you so much for the lovely time!

Their Marechel Foch 2014 was my favorite red of all the Cowichan Valley wineries. Sadly, all sold now, so I'm told. Small winery, yes, but small is good in wineries. The wine tasting/sales ladies at the "estate" have been most charming. Small wineries can be variable, but you can check out what's in stock by tasting it, and you will enjoy your visit, and probably go home with a few bottles. I am coming back on my fourth trip for more.
