I do not understand how they are still allowed to do projects with Halifax. This is the absolute worst company to deal with, they will leave the roads and side walks inaccessible and watch people with mobility issues struggle to walk through their work zone and yell at you if you ask them where to go. 0 stars please use any other company in Nova Scotia

I would rate this business zero stars if I was able to.

For the past few weeks, Dexter has rendered my small business inaccessible at a basic level.

They have, on several occasions now, blocked sidewalk access from both sides of our shop, while the street is also closed for car access. They have made ineffective and unsafe efforts, at best (and typically no efforts at all) to redirect foot traffic to our small business. Our sales are suffering significantly as a result.

We have received almost no communication from the construction company, other than the same paper notice that the residents around our shop have received, with little information about what is actually happening and how they are managing the situation for accessibility.

FYI Our shop is not a residential unit and I’m appalled to know that you are allowed, by the city regulations, to treat our storefront the same as any other residential home in the neighborhood.

Do better than you’ve been doing, our city deserves basic accessibility at the very least.

I've had the absolute pleasure of watching Dexter completely ignore any attempt at providing accessibility in their construction zones in the north end all summer. Mobility issues? Guess you can't get around your own neighbourhood. They've left garbage and massive holes all over the neighbourhood and block off sidewalks for weeks without actually doing any work. Not to mention the local small businesses struggling as any potential safe entrance is blocked off, preventing people from accessing them. They're either incompetent or inconsiderate and the city needs to find better partners to do work here, as they clearly don't care about anything other than themselves.

I’m a Bedford resident , lifelong resident .
The snow plow driver that cleared my street yesterday & this morning left most of the Cul de sac snow on my front lawn .
I’m not sure why Dexter gets the contract for snow removal . What I saw yesterday & today
is appalling . I’m not sure of the driver was new . But my Neighbor & I had to shovel a 7 feet swath in front of our driveways .
The driver left us a mess to clean up and dumped it on my property ( front lawn ) .
Just our two driveways the mess was left , leaving the other residents free & clear .
We needed another Neighbor to help clean up the left over snow .
In Previous years Dexter’s have dumped snow piles on my front lawn so high that the neighbourhood kids could reach the power lines attached to my house . The kids Parents and snow plow drivers don’t seem concerned .
The snow piles attract the Neighbourhood kids . I’m sure NO homeowner wants 10-20 of the Neighbor’s kids on their property . This raises liability issues with the power lines & safety concerns of the kids on my property caused by Dexter & it’s got to stop .

Horrible company to work for definitely need a union in there work you like a dog and don't wanna pay out a Reasonable wage, have to drive home every weekend cause they don't wanna pay for the hotle over the weekend , also will get you to do jobs that should be higher paid and then lay you off when you ask about where the pay wage , horrible company to work for robbing young fellows that don't know any better. They really need to range how they treat people when not even giving brakes they don't even care if you eat threw the day it's like being in jail or a Dictatorship, only start overtime after 110 hours a week so you never hit that litterly horrible they truly shouldn't be proud of how they run there company.

They are the main community sponsor for the Light Up Bedford Santa parade. Can they give the parade committee above and beyond assistance on the run-up to the parade on parade day. And for tear down afterwards. They offer us a large warm well-lit Bay build Santa's float and tear it back down again when the parade is over.

dexters owns many companies...eastern traffic control ...that isn't up to old dexters view of excellence ...traffic controllers throwing garbage everywhere on public roads along with the endless amount of cigarette butt's they throw away...I would have thought a company with the reputation that dexter has would run a tighter shift...but that isn't the case...& I couldn't even contact anyone at eastern traffic as they only have an automated answering system to leave a complaint...shame on you DEXTERS CONSTRUCTION 💯

The person in charge of the Dublin and Almon street construction should be ashamed of themself.

For over a month there has been a giant hole on Almon street, covering both lanes. It has caused numerous cars to hit it going at normal road speeds, damaging their suspension and underside. For the first few days that the hole was introduced they decided to not have any signs posted warning people about the hole. At this point the remaining concrete near the edges of the hole are chipped away due to how many cars have scraped against it.

I understand delays to a certain degree but we goes weeks watching as no one is ever working on it. Sometimes, there is someone there to hold a sign and say the pedestrians aren’t allowed to cross the road they have blocked off. Which is blocked off on both sides, where they are standing, with not a single soul working on any construction. They basically have the opposite of a crossing guards. Again, that’s on the very rare occasion that ANYONE is there.

I watched one day as 5 people were on the job site WATCHING CEMENT DRY on the sidewalk for about 5 hours.

It’s a joke. We are going into our worst driving season, while this company still has a few blocks of gravel road in the middle of the city.

I wish I could take stars away from them, I never write reviews but I needed to for this because it needs to be addressed and addressed quickly.
