This might be one of the harshest reviews I have written - but others must be warned. I hired Cassie to look after my father-in-laws house as we needed to sell his items prior to selling the house. Initial interactions were nice. She was prompt. I agreed to base auction fee.

The initial process happened very fast. The team came in, organized items, took pictures and had the auction set up. I was quite impressed with the initial ability to have everything set up quickly.

However, I noticed a number of items that I had (brand new Helly Hansen luggage; Torque wrench still in the package) that were not included in the auction. I did not have a full inventory so I don't know if there were other items as well.

The week after the auction - we went to the house and noticed 100% of everything in the house was gone. Items that were not on the list where gone. Everything. While ultimately we wanted things cleaned out - and I had texted Cassie that I was interested in a clean up service - I was given no notice of items that were not sold or not listed and what I wanted done with these - there were just removed.

THE BIGGEST ISSUE - I HAVE BEEN GHOSTED SINCE THE AUCTION. The auction was set to be a 40/60 split of proceeds - but it has been 6 weeks now since this auction and I have heard nothing. I have reached out but nothing. No report on how the auction went. No summary of commissions. Nothing.

So - I paid $700+ to have an auction set up - for them to sell, keep 100% of all money that was made and completely disappeared.

So - if you need a service to completely clean out your house - ultimately they will do this. But I feel that I paid to be completely robbed.

I was NOT very happy with Estate Sales Niagara!!! I bid on an item in their last sale. I WON the article. I was notified I won. I was sent no receipt! When I contacted the service, I was told that the person selling pulled it after 4 days of offering it for sale!! To pull it AFTER it was sold should be against the law!!! It was obvious to me that it was just a money grab!!! So becareful this could and probably will happen to you!!! Buyer beware!!! No excuses given just pulled. Money hungry sellers! The Estate Sales should nor allow this to happen!!!! Once put up for Dale it should HAVE TO BE SOLD! PLUS IF IT WAS SOLD IT SHOUKD NOT BE REVOKED BECAUSE A SELLER DID NOT GET WHAT HE WANTED!!!! ITS AN AUCTION PEOPLE!!!!!

VERY strict in their "rules" and I am not sure they abide by the Sale of Goods Act, but you get what you pay for and the prices can be incredibly cheap with this auction. As long as you can get there on time and pick up what you bid on you're ok - otherwise avoid at all costs. If the item is large or heavy they will not help you (without an extra cost). If you can't pick up at the time, they charge you an abandonment fee etc. Just be careful 🙂 (Also see the attitude of company below so you know the folks you'll be dealing with ;))

I would like to give my experience with this auction. As a seller I asked how long to sell my belongings in my house They told me one week. Well that was a half truth. They did one auction in one week not mentioning it would be more than one. The game they play is that each time they do an auction they charge you around $500 plus 40%, so that works out to 50% commission on around $3000. Then I never heard from them for a month because they only listed about 180 items. I was only after I left a message saying that if I didn't hear from them I would find someone else I when they responded to me. The second auction was just as bad if not worse. I regret having hired them again. I had more people coming inside my house this time unlike the first time. Also I had an issue with 2 barbecue propane tanks. One mysteriously disappeared while the auction people were conducting the auction. The second one of the employees takes the tank saying her husband bought the barbecue in the first auction. The thing is there was no mention of the propane tank being listed with the barbecue and they never picked up the barbecue. In my opinion this was a scam. Then they took several of my items for the purpose of getting evaluated which I regret doing. It took three weeks to get my stuff back! Then after the auction they left a mess in my backyard and driveway, leaving several boxes in my house and markers, pens, tape, paper, and boxes outside. When I told an employee about it she said they would be back to clean it up. That was 2 months ago! Would not recommend this company at all.

Even tried registering my friend with his info...would not allow me.
Tried calling multiple times estate sales niagara...kept getting the answering machine.

Can't say enough about Cassy and her team! My friend used their services last summer. They were professional and accommodating. Itemized lists were provided and auction items were picked up in a timely fashion.
As a repeat customer, I have been pleased with my purchases and
friendly service when picking up my items. Highly recommended!

Don't waste your money buying anything from these people. 1st of all, many of the descriptions of items are misleading and it is overpriced, uncleaned junk.
Secondly, and most importantly, do not buy electronics. I bought a large TV for $100 that said it worked, but no remote. As soon as I brought it home I plugged it in to discover it had nothing but a black screen. I called and asked if I could bring it back, if they could look at it and see that it was nothing I did. I was told by text to get it fixed, and they promptly erased the TV posting on their site (that described the TV as working condition). She tried to make it seem like it was my fault!
Customer service is worse than 1 star, I would give it 0.
The owner avoids phone calls once she has your money or business, only texts, then gaslights you if you have a complaint. Just reading her replies to complaints on here is evidence enough .

Thanks to Estate Sales Niagara for the exemplary service we received! Warren and Cassy did an amazing job, helping us to clear the contents of our fathers house after his passing (Dad was something of a hoarder). We appreciated their honesty and candor throughout the process. They kept us informed and updated at each stage, and were flexible and accommodating throughout. We also used their services for the final clearing of the house after sales finished, and they did an incredible job, at a very reasonable cost, working within a very tight timeline.

We would highly recommend them to anyone needing help with the burden of clearing house contents. They are a truly professional, knowledgeable, and caring team!
