Evan helped me and my family pull off a very difficult deal! We were looking for something bigger for our growing family, but didn't want to sell our place until we found one we really liked, to avoid ending up somewhere that wasn't perfect for us. An ideal scenario for us, not the easiest deal to broker. Evan did not shy away from this. He showed us many places, was always punctual and knowledgeable when we met him for viewings. When we finally found the place we knew we for sure wanted, it was go time. My husband and I are new to BC and were staying on Salt Spring Island until my husband was able to land a job on Vancouver Island. During one of his interviews I popped into a Remax office and had the great fortune of being introduced to Evan Schroeder. Having someone who knows the city and potential issues of concern while looking for property when you don’t know the area at all is absolutely indispensable. For this reason alone I would highly recommend Evan but there is more, much more.

Knowing we were headed back to Salt Spring that evening Evan quickly managed to pull together 3 viewings late that afternoon. In the pouring rain we were able to start to assess what was available at our desired price point and what would be a realistic price point in the Nanaimo area. While we remained on Salt Spring Island Evan never lost touch but not to the point of being pushy.

Within days of employment confirmation we were headed to Vancouver Island but with less than .02 percent rental availability we still didn’t have a place to stay. Evan suggested checking out the accommodations in the Resort Row of Parksview and Nanoose Bay area. Great idea! It was off season and Covid 19 had shut down much of the tourist industry so we were able to ultimately find wonderful last minute lodgings at Pacific Shores Resort.

From there we started looking for a home in earnest in an unusually quick moving market and within days had put in an accepted offer on a condo with unconventional circumstances. Evan walked us through everything from strata operations, procedures we needed to follow in order to have major renovations completed to finding out details about the property that would allow us to get it insured. He was even available to let tradespeople into the vacant unit to expedite estimates so we could start work soon after taking possession.

In addition he was able to recommend connections we needed to get our renovations done well, quickly and reasonably priced…sometimes even with a discount by mentioning his name. Thanks Evan!!
