During our recent stay at Vegreville Suites, we were met with a mix of convenience and disappointment. Booking the room was straightforward, thanks to their availability and ease of scheduling over the phone. This initial interaction set our expectations high for what we hoped would be a pleasant experience.

However, upon arrival, we were taken aback by an unexpected $50 deposit fee, which we were only made aware of at check-in. This brought our total to $230, an initial shock but something we decided to overlook as we settled in.

The next morning, we were eager to try the complimentary breakfast, which at first glance seemed to offer a good variety. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm was short-lived. We encountered moldy bread in the fridge, which we opted to avoid. Another oddity was the warm milk left out for cereal, an unusual practice compared to other hotels where milk is typically kept refrigerated.

The most disconcerting part of our breakfast experience involved the syrup. My husband, having made waffles, discovered that the syrup was infested with dead ants only after he had started eating. We promptly informed the staff, who replaced the syrup with a fresh bottle and offered it to us. Despite their prompt action, my husband's appetite was understandably ruined.

When it came time to check out, the hotel acknowledged our distress by giving us a $10 discount for the incident with the ants. While this gesture was appreciated, it felt inadequate considering the overall cost of our stay and the discomfort we experienced.

In summary, while Vegreville Suites offers the convenience of easy booking and room availability, the unexpected fees and issues with the breakfast service significantly marred our stay. For the price charged, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness and attention to detail. We suggest potential guests consider other lodging options and, if choosing to stay here, to inspect their food closely.

Comfortable clean hotel, some noise on weekends depending on hockey schedules. Easy access from anywhere in town. Conveniently located walking distance from BPs, Walmart, Canadian tire and tim Hortons. Plenty of parking including parking for large vehicles/ trailers.

This hotel was way better than I expected. It was very clean in all areas including our suite. We had fun with our granddaughter in the pool and slide. The hot tub was not working but your key gets you in Tower 2 which has a smaller pool with no slides but a working hot tub.
The breakfast had good variety, hot and cold. The coffee was so weak they need to improve that as other reviews say the same. Pretty much my only complaint as the coffee in room is pods and good. Thankyou for friendly service too. We would come back 😊

Nice room and the service is good, the breakfast on the other hand has to be one of the worst I have ever seen, it's quit a let down from what the rest of the hotel is like.. I'm sure you can do much better than this 👍

I was in Vegreville this past weekend to attend my daughter’s baby shower and she had told me this was the best and only place to stay that might meet my exacting standards. You see, her grandfather and I own & operate a 5 star and Michelin rated accommodation business that has been around for 25 years so she knows how picky I am about cleanliness.
I was not disappointed.
This was the cleanest and best equipped hotel I have stayed at in many years (and I travel a lot) and I found it in Vegreville of all places.
I only have one little petty complaint… there was only one of each bathroom hygiene product; one shampoo, one conditioner, one shower gel, one bar of body soap, etc.
My husband didn’t like the scent of the shower gel and used the only bar of soap provided which left us with no options but the dish soap in the kitchen for washing our hands after using the toilet.

I recently stayed at the Vegreville Suites and had a very disappointing experience. I booked a room for three adults, expecting to receive a room with two queen-sized beds. Upon arrival, we were unpleasantly surprised to find that the room had only one double-size bed, I would like to know how three grown adults are supposed to fit in that?

We immediately complained and asked for another room, but they didn’t have anything else available. Their solution was to give us an air mattress for the third person to sleep on. My father chose to sleep on the floor and use the air mattress, but it had a giant hole in it! As a result, he was forced to sleep outside in the truck.

The air conditioner was oversized for the tiny room we had. When it was running, we were either freezing, and if we turned it off, we were way too hot. It was impossible to get comfortable.

Next, why have a vending machine if you aren’t going to stock it? We went to grab a snack and found it completely empty.

This was completely unacceptable and not what we paid for. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Their lack of adequate accommodation and poor customer service made our stay very uncomfortable and frustrating.
