The team at Houghton Realty is amazing. Their realtors helped us sell our condo and were patient with us through multiple viewings of properties to try and find a new place. Ethan and Jason have a legal background, so their negotiation skills were top notch and helped us negotiate a great price on our place.
I know they also do strata management, and while my building isn’t managed by them, I’ve met their team and feel confident in their expertise and their great communication with clients.
10/10 recommend!

We use Houghton Realty as our property management company and have for the last 14 years. They have a solid contractor list, great advice in regards to pro-active maintenance and creative, out of the box thinking for some of the more unique issues our building has come across.

Since our property manager Jim was taking a step back, we now have two new property managers looking after our account. So far their communication has been clear and fast, and we feel quite well taken care of.

I had a great experience with Houghton reality. We had a horrible strata company, who were not on top of everything. One year with Houghton, all our bills are paid for in a timely manner (within a week), and they saved us lots of money! This is the first year our strata did not go up because they saved us money. They saved us 4 k in our joint strata, and over 10 k in our residential strata.

Houghton has great communication, and its easy to get through to them when you call. I moved, so they are no longer my strata manager, but I will recommend them to the new place I moved. During my move out process, my agent had to reach out to Houghton for something, and a compliment I got from my agent is that they are the only strata company who answers their phone!! When I called Ethan at 530 pm on a Monday when I was at my lawyers filling out the paper of my new place, he picked up right away! Not something you see in a strata company.

I highly recommend Houghton; Jim, Ethan, Jason and Kim and the rest of the team are incredible. Kim is on top of the accounting with accurate reports.

Jim, Jason, Ethan & Kim at Houghton have been so wonderful in the 6+ months we’ve been working with them.

We had a big property management company for over 10 years and were really frustrated with the lack or service, delays in contractual obligations and being passed around to various agents over just a few years. Between costly “preferred” vendors, being late on financial matters and mishandling our shared property with a commercial strata, they cost us easily 10s of thousands of dollars. (They also made it extremely difficult to end the contract - a wholly unnecessary and frustrating exit.)

Not only did Jim give us his time and expertise in navigating the transition, the team immediately went to work taking care of long overdue issues, getting to know the property and the strata council, reading back into the documents governing cost sharing with the commercial strata and making an immediate impact on the cost and execution of a couple of big capital projects.

They are organized, efficient, friendly, local, experienced and have exceeded our expectations at every turn. If you’re lucky enough that they agree to help take care of your property, I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment. Thank you to everyone at Houghton - we really appreciate you!
