Salt spring Island offers an unforgettable experience for those looking to explore a beautiful destination. I came across a fantastic travel guide on Amazon that covered things I needed to know about this gem in Canada. For anyone heading there, I strongly suggest picking up a guidebook, and John Bryan's version is a must-have. My journey to this island in Canada left me with lasting memories.

This is our magical place. Our friends have a home overlooking the ocean or the Strait. We can see and hear the ferries. The cottage is situated in Maracaibo at the tip or Nosepoint Strata. The trails and wildlife is amazing. I can usually read a few books in a weekend. I find peace here several times a year.

Very peaceful but lovely village core. Nice boutiques, groceries, coffee shop, a pub nearby the coast line.
My personal favorite is walking the docks and looking at all moorage vessels in the morning with my cup of coffee.
Parking is not much of an issue. As per the ferry you may stop at 3 small distinct islands for about 15 minutes and take off again. And the return to the mainland is free.

We could not have been happier on our vacation - this has been on my bucket list for years. I love the vibe and culture. There are tables at the end of drive ways that sell items that are recycled or can be reused, or homemade items like soup or cookies or chocolate to purchase. Drop the money in the honour box. When we arrived we were given a map with 15 places to visit. A type of scavenger hunt. We visited 12 places in two days. Each place had a person at their place of business that was happy and delightful to chat with. Even the thrift store was so interesting to visit! This is heaven on earth and we want to come back!
