I purchased a home, remotely, since I lived more than 900km away from Edmonton. Initial contact with Jason over the phone and email was easy and to the point. I set out my preferences, budget and other requirements for a home and Jason got to work right away. The way that he kept me in the loop, was by sending me new listings in a timely manner so that I could view them online, and decide if they met my criteria to further look into. For the homes that I was interested in, Jason never hesitated to visit the house and complete a thorough virtual tour, within the next day or two, depending on availability of course.

The videos he provided me were done properly – he walked throughout the house/property at a reasonable pace, provided comments as he saw fit, and answered any questions I had asked when he had first notified me of the listings. He demonstrated that he has a ton of knowledge pertaining to both new and old homes, which is not always a common skillset to come across (just because someone is knowledgeable in new builds, does not mean they understand older construction homes, and vice versa). Jason demonstrated he possessed both. His knowledge homes in general provided me with the information I needed to avoid certain homes, and eventually place an offer on “the one”.

Another thing I appreciated about Jason’s efforts was that he would occasionally send me homes that were slightly outside of my preferred area, budget, or other criteria – because, as a buyer, it is easy to get tunnel vision and ignore something that is a little outside the box. Although not all clients may want this – it was a much-appreciated display of competency and common sense. Ultimately, this led me to expand my search area a little bit, and place an offer on the home that I really wanted. Although closing day is still a few weeks away, I have zero complaints and will be recommending Jason Thomas to anyone else that wishes to move to the areas that he covers (Edmonton and surrounding).

When I eventually travelled to the Edmonton area, I met Jason at the home to view the home in person. He had already provided me with every bit of information I had requested about the home, so we spent a little while discussing potential upgrades / changes to the home down the road. Although these eventual renovations do not involve a realtor, he showed true interest and provided realistic suggestions, again demonstrating his knowledge of housing in general.

Lastly, his communication was done through a mixture of texts, emails and phone calls. He adhered to my unpredictable work schedule which reduced the stress of the entire process of finding, viewing, and placing an offer on the home.
