Unfortunately, I need to write this review today as I feel I have no choice but to warn potential customers of the malicious business practices of KERN BSG. If you are seeking any of the business’ services, I would highly recommend giving your money to any of the company’s reputable competitors for a fair, honest and transparent process – one that I did not have with KERN BSG.
I initially was seeking out a repair for my broken HVAC system in my apartment. Upon doing a quick Google search, I found KERN BSG, and inquired about their services as I thought their 4.7 Google review was a positive sign of the quality of the business. However, I would realize that this was a substantial mistake.
Upon an initial service visit, the service coordinator, Diana Espitia, failed to inform me about the initial visit fee prior to scheduling my service appointment. This resulted in an unexpected initial inspection bill of $820.49, which allegedly included 4.5 hour of labour, truck charge and tool rental. Although the technicians were only on site for under an hour for the investigation, I was later informed by the manager, Ivan Jung, I was responsible to cover the technician’s travel time when I raised my concerns. My apartment is located in Burnaby, and the headquarters of the business is a ~10 minute drive away in Burnaby as well – what transportation costs for an initial visit could possibly sum to an initial inspection cost of $820.49?
During the service, the technicians subsequently broke my light fixture during the repair process. I was explicitly promised that the company would repair it for free, after I paid out $2k+ for the total repair. Diana reached out to me a week after to schedule the repair and asked me to provide the correct model of the light fixture. I went out of my way to find this information, only for Diana and the team to back out of their original promise, claiming they would not be responsible for costs related to the damage that they had caused.
The management team of KERN BSG has lacked transparency, integrity, and accountability, which has been incredibly frustrating for me as a customer. I would highly recommend against utilizing KERN BSG for any of their services, and hope that my experience and anecdote will save prospective customers thousands of dollars by steering clear of this incredibly dishonest business.
