Makola left myself, my partner and my two children homeless. They have no heart and treat people like trash. We were given the keys to move in to indigenous housing on the last day of the month. We packed up the rented moving truck and arrived to unload when we saw fire trucks outside the building. There was a flood affecting multiple units including our new home. We got a call saying we could not move in, and it could be up to a year before the place was remediated. We asked about getting help for temporary accommodation since we had nowhere to go, but they said that because we hadn’t moved in yet officially They didn’t need to help us. Emergency services also could not help us citing “flood” is not considered under their mandate to help. We were left completely helpless. They gave us our damage deposit back and said “see ya”. They also said they would fast track us for another unit but we never ever heard from them again. This place was so highly recommended and I was shocked and disgusted how they treated my family. I HIGHLY recommend never dealing with this scum greedy corporation.
