I bought a house last month, but I feel like I've been scammed. As a customer, I should have been informed about the property tax costs. Paying $7000 a year for semi-attached property without access to city bus services feels excessive. I wouldn't have made the purchase if I had known about the property tax amount beforehand. It's unethical not to disclose such crucial information upfront and instead waiting until the end to inform the customer. I need to consult with my lawyer about this matter.

Dealing with this builder has been a nightmare...he is rude and disrespectful and has failed to successfully communicate since our purchase. We have been fighting to have a deck repaired that failed building code and was promised to be repaired by end of October...today is Novemeber 1st and they have yet to contact us(and the other homes on my street with same issue) They still havent paid my Realtor and our closing date was in August. We have other issues that have never been dealt with as well and I'm just beyond disappointed with their workmanship.
Buyer beware and make sure you get references from recent homebuyers...and I'm still waiting for stairs to be put on my deck that we paid for as an upgrade...

I never give bad reviews but I live in their over priced houses with absolutely the worst customer service. They will blame a home owner before accepting responsibility for the poor quality. Even the singles should only be 500,000 for Carlton Place.

Worst builder to deal with.
Not professional and poor communication skills.
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone at all
Buy at your own risk
A lot of construction defects such as forgetting to add upgrades as big as additional bedrooms.
If possible hire a private inspector on closing check your heating and wiring as those are poorly done too.

Dealing with this builder is a nightmare. Poor customer service/communication/ organizational skills. Poor finishing and numerous defects.
Sadly, the builder is in no hurry to fix the defeciences. Been going after them for months but not much has happened. I have received similar complaints from some of my neighbors. So frustrating!!!!!!!!

Build quality and home layout are above expectations, better than any other new build I've lived in. The included standards are miles ahead of everything else in the area. I was one of the first people to move into the development and waited over a year for completion (bought pre-construction) and it was worth the wait.

I considered Cardel Homes Carleton Place development, but their houses are much smaller (they actually included the sq ft of the basement in their advertisements) and the exterior designs are a failed attempt at modern design.
