Linda provided all the information I needed and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth purchasing process. She was also very resourceful when it came to customizing my home and selecting the perfect finishes.

Over the past year I have dealt with Partners Development Group. While they do provide many upgrades on their townhomes, I must say I have been too patient with them. The Sales guy Maurizio seemed professional at first. However after sending documents back for signing, we received someone else’s contract that we shouldn’t be privy to. Also as residents in Darcy we were promised a green space along with another phase of single story townhomes. However now at a recent town counsel meeting they are proposing a 4 story condominium building. During construction, they started insulating before the roof was on with wet insulation. If I hadn’t caught it there would have been a mold issue down the line. The framing of the master bedroom door wasn’t straight leading to rubbing issues. As well the finishing Carpentry was not checked over and there are Brad nails sticking out in 10+ spots through the house (safety hazard). Caps on plumbing in bathrooms are pulling out of the wall. Taking an extra minute to silicone these on would prevent a similar issue. Defective door hinges leading to loud squeaking. Trying to get these items fixed has been like pulling teeth. They expect the client to take multiple days off and then nothing is fixed when I do. This is the third time with deficiencies not being completed leading to my review. Being in the trades myself and consulting with professional colleagues, they have cut many corners. Not installing re-circulating lines has led to hot water taking two minutes to warm up daily. Partner’s prides themselves on being environmentally friendly in their construction but why couldn’t they add $800 on to conserve water instead of waiting for water to warm up. The on-demand water should include a system to deal with the hard water which was never mentioned nor installed. Now as the home owner I have to shell out a few thousand dollars to be environmentally conscious, prevent damage to the hot water system and further maintenance problems down the line.

This really comes down to the builder paying their trades to take pride in their work instead of their warranty team inconveniencing the client by fixing things after the fact. Also educating clients on the full scope of the systems in the house would have prevented this review. All customers want is honesty and transparency which has been breached here on multiple levels.

UPDATE:

Have not received any communication from Partners since my review despite my emails. Very childish and concerning that they are not transparent. Guess the next step is to take ‘legal’ action and warn potential customers this company does not stand behind their product. Very sad to see they are simply hurting their own business.

It really is most unfortunate that Partners offers such a unique product in the Calgary and area market with their row house bungalows and that there were not other options for builders because I would never build with them again or recommend them to anyone. Their customer service is atrocious and way below expectations especially because of the big speech I got from their customer service manager on the day of possession about how Partners would go above and beyond for their customers. While I was and am not expecting above and beyond, I do expect basic sevice and for Partners to stand behind their products and their trades. There is no way I should be paying for the labor to replace a part that is covered under warranty on a problem that was reported to them within 8 months of possession because the ‘thorough assessment’ their trade did was not able to figure out the issue at the time. I’ve worked in the construction industry for over 20 years with some of the top builders in Calgary and our builders would never disregard their customers concerns in this way. It’s very disappointing to be paying for expensive repairs within 2 years of buying a brand new home and to be told by their customer service manager that my concerns were unreasonable and not something they could help with. While that is only the latest and most frustrating issue, the craziest response from Partners was when I mentioned the safety concern of ice building up in front of the step in my back yard and was told the only way to avoid that was to remove all of the snow (not an easy feat when you’re in the middle of a row of houses and the only access is through the garage and obviously, not a practical solution in any way shape or form) from my back yard and there was nothing they could do as settlement wasn’t covered under warranty. Which I understand but then they shouldn’t be offering landscaping services prior to possession if they are not going to take responsibility for their products and services.
Overall, I love my house but the service and attitude of the people representing Partners is terrible and I could never in good conscience recommend them and will never build with them again.

To be clear- the solution to the ice was to remove the snow from the entire yard, not just to the middle as suggested in the response. And while I have no concerns with the actual landscaping, I understand they are not responsible for settling but then they should do the landscaping before possession knowing there could be issues with settlement creating unsafe conditions.

Purchased my first home with Partners in Evanston. Homes are beautifully designed with so much functionality and space available. Great location too, easy access to Stony and Deerfoot, walking distance to Sobeys and other commercial buildings. Sales team (Darcey and Paul), James, and everyone else I’ve been in contact with have been so helpful and responsive. One of the best team you will meet. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality of the home and would definitely recommend Partners to others. Thank you Partners!

We purchased our new home with Partners Development Group earlier this year and, to date, have thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Above all, we cannot speak highly enough and could not have asked for better in working with the Sales Manager, Linda Jermacans. From the first day of going into the Sale Centre (a busy Saturday where Linda still managed to diligently and expertly answer every one of our questions while still attending to multiple other interested parties) through to the execution of the purchase contract, Linda was extremely personable, personified professionalism, had in-depth knowledge of the Partners Development Group products, and was always willing to make herself available to hear our thoughts and questions and engage in discussion. Moreover, at no point did Linda apply any crass and, ultimately, off-putting pressure sales tactics. Where many home sales representatives across Calgary routinely deploy pressure tactics in an attempt to close a sale (in so doing effectively undermining/depreciating their product by implicitly conveying that the quality of the product cannot speak for itself and manipulation is needed to sell the home), Linda consistently upheld an admirably high standard in at once advising on the sale and building process, home options, and overall ensuring (without unpalatable agenda) that there were no surprises or uncertainties as we made these significant and impactful decisions. At least for us, the purchase of a new home is a major undertaking and a project that unfolds over a relatively protracted period of time and, this being so, we are happy to have been given the time, knowledge, and guidance of Linda as our home is built and the journey continues to move closer to possession day. In short, on the basis of our experience to date, we would absolutely buy a home from Linda/Partners Development Group again and, indeed, will be using our highly positive experience with Linda/Partners Development Group as the standard or benchmark, however high, against which we measure any future experience with buying/building a home.

So far we have been very happy with the presentation and customer service of Partners Development as we go through the purchasing of our new home in Upper Greenwich. We have been especially pleased with the sales representative Linda. She has not only an excellent knowledge base of the product but has also been very personable through the process. She has done an excellent job helping us to navigate decisions and ensuring we had full understanding of the process. She has done an excellent job being flexible to our schedule and needs and made these big decisions much easier to make because of the fact that her knowledge was so good and that she at no point tried to push any sort of sale or agenda through, always putting us as the customer and our unique needs first. Highly recommend this company thus far in the process!

Before buying a Partners constructed home, I did research them and became comfortable I was dealing with a quality builder. I also fell in love in with the unique and amazing Upper Greenwich development. The icing on the cake though was the Salesperson, Linda. The words I would use to describe her are : pleasant, knowledgeable, prompt and thorough in responding to questions, great at suggesting design options but not overbearing as she respects the fact you be need to decide for yourself what your home should be. And lastly, sincere and works hard to meet your needs. A special person selling in a special development!

What a surreal & grateful moment in my life. Today I received possession of my first home. 2 years ago if you said I’d be a home owner today I’d never believe it, but life takes its paths that sometimes you’d never imagine would happen. Thank you partnershomes, this place is immaculate, and has many amazing features I’d never expect as a standard option for the price I paid. It’s perfect.
