I bought a place using Paula as my agent about 12 years ago now. (I was going through some old paperwork when I came across Paula's name and it reignited my anger): I used Paula as my agent because my friends pressured me to use her, because she gave them a $500 kick back for the referral. Paula was pushy and pressured me to not negotiate the price because it was already low and didn't want to upset the seller. She told me that I would get the price lower because I was a first time home buyer and would get the "first time home buyers grant" plus another incentive which escapes me now. After the sale I found out I didn't qualify for the grant as I had just moved to the province and you had to have lived in the province for 6 months to qualify. In the end she cost me what I believe to be between 10 to 15 thousand.

Another memory of her: I showed up, on time, to an appointment I had with her to view the unit I wanted to purchase. When Paula pulled up 10 minutes late I got out of my vehicle and walked over to hers. It was raining and I stood outside her vehicle while she continued a phone call. I stood out in the rain for ten minutes while she sat in her vehicle talking on the phone. When she finally did get out she exclaimed, "sorry, that's a potential client with a million dollar listing!"

Another issue: I had contacted a mortgage broker and had been pre-approved before I went looking for a place. Paula didn't like that and insisted that I use her mortgage broker to which I pushed back and said no. She then called my mortgage broker and asked if I had been approved and for how much!?!
