Disappointed with Podium Property’s Lack of Professionalism and Care:

On the morning of February 19, around 7 AM, I had a fall in the icy parking lot of Podium Property, which resulted in injuries to my legs. Even now, my leg is still swollen. Right after the incident, I reported it to the Podium Property administrator via email, attaching picture of my injury. She responded, saying she had forwarded my email to the property manager. However, to this day, I have yet to receive any response from the property manager.

I find it incredibly disappointing that Podium Property has shown such a lack of professionalism and concern for residents' well-being. When residents need support, it seems they are nowhere to be found, yet they are quick to collect condo fees. This raises serious concerns about their commitment to maintaining a safe living environment.

I am relieved that I am not a pregnant woman or a senior—had I been, the consequences of this fall could have been far worse. Safety and accountability should be a priority for any property management company, but unfortunately, Podium Property has failed in this regard.

I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their responsiveness and commitment to resident safety.

Podium properties goes to great lengths to keep the common parts of a building immaculate. But they are incompetent and indifferent to the individual owner. They left spaces between the boards of a floor repair. Lately they have ignored 2 sights of water damage. Shame on them! How can a condo owner protect his investment when they won't address leaking pipes. There are other management companies out there who could run a better business. Back in 2008, I was in danger of losing $5000.00 value in laminate flooring due to their slowness to respond.
In 2024 I was told by the super intendant that my bathroom ceiling tiles would not be replaced because the color wouldn't match the other tiles. The condominium board went along with this. It is my understanding that leaks outside of my unit are their responsibility. While I love my home, I would strongly advise against buying or renting a unit at 105 Dunbrack St. I am considering taking the matter up at small claims court. I will put an end to this nonsense one way or another.
I am please to say that podium properties had redeemed themselves by fixing the tiles. Hopefully I will see an improved attitude in the future.

Adding to the poor reviews here. Would give zero stars as well. The staff is disrespectful. Same thing as others. Own my condo and there is a water leak. I am going to try going to the building condo board. If you can avoid having interactions with this company do it.

This company is unprofessional to an extent that residents feel unsafe in their own home. A guide dog was attacked by another dog in a common area, and there has been no response to this critical incident by management. The other dog still lives in the building and there have been no repercussions, meaning that someone with a vision impairment is fearful to leave her place and encounter this dog and their owners again. If you value safety, integrity, and professionalism I highly dissuade you from living in a residence under this property management company.

I have good friends who live in one of Podiums building in Halifax. Recently one of them, who is blind, was attacked in the lobby by another resident's dog. Specifically the dog attacked my friend's guide dog. The incident shook up both my friends and the guide dog. When brought to the attention of Podium, they advised my friends and the other residents (whose dog attacked them) that they should keep their dogs separated. As a result, my blind friend is not using elevators and is terrified to walk the hallways, lobby or common spaces in the building for fear of running into them. They work at home and their partner works during the day in town and thus cannot be there all the time.

This is unacceptable and a human rights violation.

My friend's accessibility issues, which require a guide dog, are not being respected. My friend has been asked to do things as if they can see (how can a bind person avoid another person/dog?) and obviously because they cannot their whole life has been changed because of fear of running into this aggressive dog again. Podium is behind the times in respecting and making accommodations for accessibility people and alleviating the barriers they face in life all the time. In fact, they have made it worse for my friend and appear to not care or think what they are doing is 'fair'. It is not.

Podium Properties is very slow to deal with routine maintenance issues, many of which relate to building integrity. They do not respond to emails from concerned residents in a timely fashion, and sometimes, they do not respond at all. They fail to maintain important records such as meeting minutes and AGM records for residents to review.

Management was awful, didn't respond to our calls. Dangerous dogs in common areas. No rules. My family's dog was attacked. They were totally unresponsive to a dangerous situation with our family service dog. Never stay at a condo where Podium is the property manager.

Property Management needs to take a course in proper communication / how to relay relevant information to residents. They like to send out useless memos regarding inclement weather (we can all go to the Environment Canada website ourselves), yet won’t notify residents ahead of time to expect loud drilling noises at 8:30am, or why there will be drilling.

Residents are left in the dark about what essential maintenance work on the aging building has been planned (i.e. falling shingles? Perpetually flooded courtyard?)

They also like to either victim-blame, or don’t respond at all when one resident displayed threatening behaviour towards another resident. Yet they want to install lights to make it "safe" to walk at night (even though there is already sufficient lighting).
