J’ai loué chez northvieuw , je trouve que c’est une boite tres professionnelle au vrai sens du terme. L’appartement correspond exactement aux photos , hyper propre , pas de moisissure , une fenêtre qui donne une vue panoramique.
Comme j’étais newcomers ils ont pas trop tiqué comme killam. Donc j’apprécie énormément.

I have been with Northview for 4 years.

So far, the property value is decreasing and the cost of rent keeps increasing. It's a maze to get through the parking lot, because of the craters that have been there for 2 years straight. The last year or two, I've looked outside my window to dead flowers because they refuse to upkeep the flower bed.

My appliances are all over 10 years old, and they haven't offered to upgrade any with these rent increases.

They blame inflation on rent increase, which is hilarious because the rental property value is decreasing! There is no updates, or renovations. What's also funny, is NOTHING is included in rent. So how can you blame inflation when you aren't doing anything that inflation has made difficult? Are we going to include NB power now, since rent keeps going up "inflation".

I've emailed Rachel, and she has yet to answer me. I'm not sure if she's purposely ignoring me, or if she has a lot of other angry emails to respond too as I've overheard my neighbour's have the same complaint. But i emailed her April 30th, so I'm on day business day 3 of waiting for an answer.

I do not recommend this company at all, as the property value decreases the rent increases.

It also took them 6 months to fix a plumbing issue in my bathroom a couple years ago, I had an infestation of ants & bumble bees for months before they did anything about it because THEY cut a hole in my wall and left it there.

April 2024 update: half the window was replaced. Was never replastered. Currently raining and the wall has water in it. Request was made in 2021 and has been followed up on many many times. It's exhausting.
ETA: these issues bring about ants. They are everywhere. I disinfect my apartment twice a day to keep them at bay. It's impossible to keep up. They come through in every room and are hard to spot. I have spoken with other tenants that report the same thing. Pic added.

I wanted to love this place but I have had a maintenance request open since October 2021 for a broken window. It is April 2023. I have called multiple times to follow up and people have come to look at it but no one has even tried to fixed it. And yet, the rent is going up

Edit October 2024: massive ant infestation continues. Pest control cannot get it controlled.

I used to live at their 1309 mountain rd location for years. One of their employees, Chris Bosch, is aggressive and argumentative and decided to yell and scream at me infront of my two toddler aged children, scaring them in the process making them scared to walk down the hallway of the apartment. What was the argument over? Well Chris was cleaning the elevator and I needed to use it since I’m pushing a double toddler stroller full of groceries. Waiting the 20 minutes for him to finish cleaning wasn’t an option. Upon me telling him it would only take 30 seconds for me to reach my floor he decides to yell and scream at me and my family. I contacted Northview to let them know and nothing was done. The safety of their tenants is of no importance to this company and if you have children be careful with the people they choose to hire and represent the company

Absolutely awful. Way too hot in the rooms and hallways. Large hole in hallway ceiling unfixed for about 6 months or so. Constantly smells of cigarettes despite being a non-smoking building. Almost NO parking. Hallways are constantly messy and have trash lying around. It’s pretty pathetic considering the rent is increasing so much even though the property value is decreasing.
EDIT: October 2024; I’ve been here for 3 years and have never missed a rent payment, have sometimes even paid early. They served me an eviction notice because I was 3 days late this month. Avoid at all costs.

Wow essex street apartment building is getting old every thing is old appliance not mini split with the heat we have now with all old people living in there appartement some can't afford air conditioner price of rent going up but service not there parking is disgusting....landlor well no sense talking to him

Maintenance takes weeks to come, they never awnser the phones when there's emergencies, the washing/drying machines always break, rent increases every chance they get. Not a fun time.

Edit: now the building has mice, they had an exterminator come within a day. The guy said that all that needed to be done is for maintenance to fix a hole so they stay out of our apartment. That was a month ago. No fixes done, still nobody came to fix the hole and we are stuck with mice.

Be very cautious of renting from Northview as it will be hit or miss depending on who you encounter and where you rent. A lot could be done to improve their overall rental experience.

- "Non-smoking building" reeking of cigarette smoke day and night with nothing being done about it. It's getting worse every day.
- Minimal upkeep on the few amenities left.
- Laundry services cut in half and laundry vendor not following up with tenants.
- Minimal communication and enforcement on pandemic control and disease prevention.
- No on-site superintendent or managerial staff as previously advertised.
- Value keeps decreasing with rent increasing.
