Disclaimer, I think the place looked nice online. I didn’t get a chance to see in person but this is not a review at the place. It’s at the poor and unprofessional management. *My first ever interaction with them*
I had a scheduled viewing for 2pm today and was running way behind stuck at another viewing. I don’t have any contact information from the property manager at Rideau Towers. After I had a minute to myself, I searched a phone number to contact this place on google and called the number listed under Rideau Towers (hoping I’d reach the right person- it ended up being the property managers cellphone #?) I sincerely apologized and explained the situation, also asked for a reschedule. The person that answered the phone and spoke with me (I imagine the property manager?) was so condescending and impolite. They were scolding me for not calling or texting them. I didn’t have this persons information because they never gave it to me?! From the beginning, it was an incredibly unprofessional response to my inquiry in viewing the apartment. There were no professional credentials in the email/ template of contact information. For a large apartment complex, you’d think they would be significantly more professional. Looked like someone’s kid was sending emails. I had a bad feeling from the beginning, but I persisted with it.
After dealing with this persons behaviour for a few minutes she scheduled me for tomorrow the same time… then proceeded to say “don’t be late again”. I kindly stopped her and said that this was an incredibly strange conversation we had, I will not tolerate her behaviour, and that I am no longer interested in inquiring about her place - she can cancel my reschedule indefinitely. She muttered something and hung up on me. She felt very strong and powerful when she was berating me over the phone but when I stood up for myself she hung up. Wow. Some people will push to see how far they can go with others until one day it doesn’t go in their favour. If you want to rent from here, consider that this will be your property manager. Think wisely. I would be doing everyone a disservice if I didn’t say something here. I would never want anyone to have to deal with a terrible person daily.
