We had an excellent time during our winter getaway - the cottage was comfortable and had what we needed. Nice touches include a well equipped kitchen with sharp knives!, good coffee, and a variety of teas. I also noticed a full pantry of spices.

Gorgeous design meets breathtaking views--absolute perfection. There are barely words to describe the beauty of the cabins and setting. We spent 3 nights in the Spruce and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff and owner were welcoming and gracious and the communication (before, during, and after) was much appreciated. The cabins are impeccably designed and the attention to detail made us feel right at home. We saw eagles and breaching whales from the deck and spent the evenings stargazing from our wood-burning hot tub. We loved everything about this experience!

The accommodation is 5 star. The outlook is 5 star. The service was 5 star. We had a ride with the co owner to the very good restaurant locally (Woodroad. You should go). The beach is so close. You can watch the eagles as you relax in the hot tub. The thought that has gone into the property is very attentive. We regret not staying longer than 2 nights.

Setting is perfect- perched on a ridge overlooking St. George’s Bay. Beautiful red sand beach below. Sunsets in front sunrise behind and moon arching over cottage at night.|Modern clean comfortable. Great space to relax. Wood fired hot tub.|Close to Cabot Shores golf course, Coastal biking trail (blue route), Margaree and Cheticamp. Great spot to celebrate our anniversary.

Ridge on the Chimney offers a magical balance of nature and luxury, adventure and relaxation, modern convenience and seclusion. We loved exploring the beautiful island- kayaking, whale watching and hiking, but were thrilled to return to the retreat of our upscale cabin. It was an ideal spot for a family vacation with our children aged 6-12, given the large outdoor spaces and direct access to Chimney Corner Beach. But the spectacular views from the private hot tub and outdoor shower, along with excellent local cuisine, would undoubtedly also make for the perfect romantic getaway.

The personal attention from our hosts, on this occasion Scott and May, was remarkable. From preheating our hot tub prior to our arrival, to including special treats with our family in mind, we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Their thoughtfulness was notable throughout our stay with excellent, though never invasive, communication. Their love of Cape Breton was evident in the meticulous care they have invested in this vacation property, and was indeed infectious, as we can’t wait to return.

Absolutely spectacular!

We spent 3 days in the Cedar Villa enjoying the Fall colors (Oct. 20 to 23). By far the best accommodation in Nova Scotia we have experienced and definitely one of the best worldwide (5 star hotels included in that list). The house is stunning and was perfectly cleaned. The attention to each detail and the welcoming treats made our visit even more unique. The Ridge on The Chimney team is amazing! Great communication, and a true willingness to make our stay a remarkable time. We will be back for sure!

Everything about my stay here was incredible. The property itself is stunning, from the natural landscape to the cabins.

The owner is very friendly, welcoming, and thoughtful. That translates into other aspects of the property - the cabins are very thoughtful and intentional in their design and layout.

Stargazing is near unparalleled here, and the sunsets are sublime. I cannot recommend this place enough.

My wife and I travel a lot with our two adult sons with special needs, banking unique experiences with them around the world for a future that is likely to be lacking in the kind of opportunities that we can currently provide. We never post reviews, but for this place I am making an exception. ||Nestled in a clearing of birch trees on a ridge overlooking Chimney Beach and the North Atlantic, this property composed of four separate custom built small private homes is truly a hidden gem. We spent three nights in the Cedar house, which offers accommodation for six, and is farthest to the right and forward in the trip advisor picture. ||Built with strong elements of Scandinavian design, clean simple lines, functionality first, and an emphasis on honouring the beauty of the surroundings through the large windowed walls on the main floor, our stay was filled with more Hygge than I have ever encountered before in Canada. ||It was very apparent that every choice and offering has been made with care and deliberation. ||From the ease of check-in, to the wood fired hot tub, bathrobes, linens, full kitchen and amenities, rain shower bathrooms, Frame TV, excellent wifi, sunshade & beach chairs and private path down to a surprisingly lovely sandy beach, everything was simply awesome.||We are so glad that three days was simply not enough time to fully explore the Cabot Trail as it will give us an excuse to return to this little patch of paradise in the future.||If you can afford it, a stay at the Ridge on the Chimney is worth every penny.
