It's been a couple of years since my purchase, but it's important people know that Sameena is another realtor in it for her commission. During the post covid market boom, every piece of advice she gave us was wrong, and in her self-interest. She somehow convinced us that it was completely acceptable to pay WAY over asking because "that's just how the market is, and if you really want the house, that's all it is." She provided no guidance, did not encourage sticking to a budget we had communicated earlier, provided no transparency when negotiating with the buyer agent and instead motivated us to stretch unrealistically and buy so that she could get a nice commission bump.

This is a warning to also not be as naive as we were as first time buyers. Do NOT trust your realtors, and stick to your budget and what's good for you. It's funny how agents do the negotiating on your behalf and in your interest when they have full incentive to try and get the highest price possible on both sides.
