Spent a week celebrating our 25th anniversary at Castaway Ocean Lodge and it could not have been any better. The representatives through Sandy Lane were wonderful to deal with and the cottage is, in a word... spectacular. I would gladly recommend Sandy Lane to anyone looking to rent a cottage on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The experience was very professional from start to finish.

There were several cottages on their website that interested us, but after talking to Helen, we were able to narrow it down to the ones that best-suited us. She took the time to answer all of our questions, and the cottage that we ended up staying at was exactly what we wanted. (the cottage lived up to the pictures)

The directions and package sent in advance were great. Checking in and out was also very easy.

The next time that we vacation in the South Shore, we will definately go through Sandy Lane.

We can highly recommend Sandy Lane Vacation Rentals. In the past three years, we have rented 4 different properties with this organization. The photos and great descriptions of each property are accurate and Helen (our key contact) personally answered lots of questions for us as she has stayed at many of these properties herself. I think Sandy Lane has a great "eye" for picking great places to vacation, and I have long been impressed with how easy the website is to navigate to figure out what properties are available to us, and at what price. We have three teenaged children who look forward to 'checking out' on a beach nearby (our favourite type of property) and this year was spectacularly suitable at Red Head Beach House with both the ocean frontage and the swimmable lake, right out in front.

This organization is professionally run. You can rent a place with complete confidence that it is as good as it looks and know Helen has provided all the information you need to have a wonderful vacation.

We would highly recommend Sandy Lane. We rent the Frances Louis House in Nova Scotia and we really enjoy our stay. When we arrive everything was clean and they are there if you have any questions or problems with the house. Really fast and professional to make your best comfort.

Our short holiday in Lockeport at the Beechmont House met our expectations in full. The house looks gorgeous inside and out on the web and for real - and that reflects our three day experience. Fabulous panorama view from the kitchen, deck and master bedroom, taking your dreams out to sea at night... never mind the weather did not play along too well for most of our stay. We explored Lockeport and the farmer's market, cooked a delish haddock dinner after dropping into the local convenience store in Lockeport. Explored Shelburne the following day, browsing the farmer's market there, too. Even though the beach in Lockeport is quite perfect, we ventured out to Louis Head Beach as well, albeit on a windy day, just before the rain kicked in. Beechmont House offered coziness and tasteful decor and scene lighting all around, and lots of room everywhere. The cottage impressed with a fully equipped kitchen, huge bath room, stacks of towels, firewood and kindling piled up next to the two fire places. We truly enjoyed our stay, and that means a lot, as we live in a beautiful character home ourselves, including panorama vistas of the Bay of Fundy... so much more to explore on the south shore!

Our summer rental of sea star cottage was the highlight of our summer. The house is spacious and cozy, very quiet and peaceful, the nights are a total blackout, we slept like babies. We loved summerville beach, because of the waves. The oven was on the fritz, it didn't matter.

We rented a beautiful home for a week and it accommodated everyone comfortably.
Exceptionally clean, gorgeous views and a beautiful secluded setting off the road. The cottage we rented was Southwest Breakers. A beautiful home for a family vacation!
