I was planning on only staying for a few days. Unfortunately, I got pretty sick and had to bunker down in my room for a period of time.

I'm so lucky I choose Sonesta because their rooms had everything I needed while I was sick.
Clean room
Clean dishes/silverware
Very hot and relaxing shower
Very peaceful and quiet and I mean Quiet. I was able to sleep with no disturbance.
Full fridge/freezer (not a mini fridge)
Laundry
Safe and secure parking
Friendly staff

All the boxes were checked off here.
Ended up staying six days. Thank You!

I absolutely LOVE this hotel. My husband and I have been on a road trip adventure for a few months now, exploring the US, and this hotel totally feels like home. It's the little things, like the amount of shelves and counter space, the cooktop, the items provided in the rooms. We're in the smallest room type, with 1 queen bed, and we still feel like it's plenty spacious. We're so comfortable coming back here at the end of the day, we've caught ourselves saying "let's go home"! Yes, the laundry machines are on the expensive side, but it's still convenient having them here. Plus the fitness center is really nice and up to date and this location is so convenient for us. It's close to everything. I do wish they were able to provide us with some comforts like an extra blanket, a couple of extra pillows... for some reason they don't have any extras available. But not a huge deal. We're thoroughly enjoying our stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. It's not luxurious, but it's comfortable, familiar, and a great place to make your "home" while visiting Irvine.

Let me start with the hotel first. The location was great but there is nothing really walkable. You are about a 5 min drive to almost anything (unless farther away ofc). Only reason why is got a 2 stars is due to the smell of must and cigarettes. It felt like everywhere inside the hotel smelt like it.

Next is rooms, i got an accessibility room because i have a disability that causes me not to be able to stand for a long time. Looking into the bathroom, it looked like a prison. The water guard in the shower was completely falling apart and no longer attached to the floor; meaning water basically gets everywhere during every shower. Also to mention that the water guard was COVERED in black mold. Hair was found that wasn’t mine in the shower, the provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were empty upon arrival, towels and such also had multiple stains. In the actual bedroom part itself, the bedding had cigarette hole burns and stains on the pillow cases.

Now onto the kitchen. The dishwasher had literal mold, rust, and food residue all in it. I was so disgusted even by the smell to the point i refused to use it. Dishes had multiple stains on it as well, no point in using them when you have to wash them again anyways.

I couldn’t even say it was quiet due to being waken up at 4am because of an ambulance. Not high tech, the remote for the tv didn’t even work.

Positive: Location looked safe, within walking distance to places, nice friendly staff. Parking lot seemed safe and outside looks good. Negative: Room appliances need to be replaced, bathroom needs to also be better kept, there we are very noticeable stains and musty odor in the hallways leading from/to the elevators

Never again. Used to be Candlewood - the rooms were spotless and inviting. We loved the Candlewood because of the location and proximity to freeway and shopping. Now it's ghetto. The hallway to the room was ghetto- dirty carpet, dented doors, paint chipped walls. My sister and I had to wipe down the room. We took video of the room just in case. The cabinet next to the fridge had a broken piece. The dishwasher looked like coffee had been dumped in it and never rinsed. By the time we left my white footie socks were dirty from the carpet. We had to request a shower curtain. We went to Walmart and bought cleaning supplies - used clorox cleanup and fabreze. The light in the fixture in the bathroom is all rusty. I paid almost 500.00 plus parking.

I was disappointed with our stay at Sonesta Simply Suites Orange County Airport Sonesta. The room was horribly dirty.||• Check in - it was explained to us that there was no room service. If we wanted clean linens, we had to take the dirty linens to the front desk, then we would receive clean linens. Rooms were cleaned every seven days. We had to empty our own trash. We requested an extra blanket but was told for two days they did not have any extra, so we got an extra sheet.||• Hotel hallways - the hallway carpet was black alongside of the walls and not cleaned. The hallway carpets were dirty. The walls were dirty. There was a room door that was damaged and appeared to have been punched at several times.||• Kitchenette - front face drawer covering of sink was broken. The cabinets particle board was worn and damaged throughout the kitchen. The inside of the fridge was ok. The dishwasher was dirty and had some brown stuff on the bottom. The paper towel holder had a large screw sticking out making it hard to put paper towels on the holder.||• Room area - The room dresser/credenza had damage covered by patch color. The drawers in the desk/dresser/credenza were dirty and damaged. The curtains were not clean and black at the top even though the curtains were tan in color and smelled of old cigarette smoke. The air conditioner cover was broken. The nightstand drawer was dirty.||• Floor - The carpet was dirty and musty smelling. The room smelled musty. There were cigarette burns on the carpet under the recliner. ||• The table-lamp on the other side of the bed was not working because the plug was behind the bed and smashed into the wall.||• Bathroom - there was mold around the bathtub. There was no shower curtain. (when we did receive a shower curtain, we had to hang it ourselves.) There was shaved hair in the sink. The side of the vanity was dirty. The tissue holder was not secure on the side of the vanity. The vanity light cover was rusty and end cap covers were partially off. The wall above the door was still yellowed from cigarette smoke. The bathroom door would not latch closed unless you lifted the door to latch. ||• Laundry room - the washer we used leaked all over the floor. ||Lastly, we ended up cleaning the entire room ourselves with Clorox wipes. We sprayed the carpet with Febreze and sprayed the bathroom with shower spray w/bleach to remove the mold. We mopped the kitchenette floor and bathroom floor with a Swiffer wet jet without the liquid cleaner and mop at the bottom. We cleaned the floor with dish soap on rags.

Nope. If you like dirty and unclean places be my guest. Bathroom walls and floor had not cleaned. I had to buy bleach wipes to clean them. Refrigerator door shelf was broken and rolled everything I put there onto the floor. Did not see if was cracked until everything fell. Faux drawer wooden panel kept falling off. One of the burners on the 2 burner cook top did not work at all. Sink in the bathroom kept stopping up and we only used soap with water , it should have just flowed through. Shower rod paint or silver liner coming off, ceiling dirty and cracked in shower area. Towel holder barely still in the wall. Thermostat was weird you were either hot or freezing no happy medium. Hallways smell very old and almost moldy. Someone else paid for the room so we could not just change hotels. Definitely would not stay there ever again unless they did a whole remodel and got better cleaning staff.
