When it comes up in conversation that I won the 2024 hospital lottery home, the other person usually remembers this Sorento built house because of one of its many remarkable features. Whether it’s the hidden door in the living room, the chandelier over the bathtub in the luxurious ensuite, the basement wet bar, the award-winning kitchen or the oblong windows in the butler's pantry and the powder room, this is a house that people remember. One person described the Harper as a house that looks like a little bungalow from the outside but is a total showstopper inside.

Having enjoyed this home over the past year, I’m still amazed at the craftsmanship and the design thoughtfulness. I appreciate the south view through glass doors to the covered veranda, the extent of the stonework in the kitchen, dining and living room and the peaceful, tranquil colors continued throughout the home. When I noticed a few minor deficiencies, Sorento’s service team rectified either the same day or as soon as the respective trade was available.

All this to say, I do sing Sorento's praises to anyone who inquires and if a new build or renovation is ever in my future, Sorento Custom Homes would be my first choice.

In October 2020 my wife and I signed a contract with Sorento Custom Homes Ltd. to build an executive quality home on our acreage just north of Rimbey. We contracted with Sorento because we were impressed with the quality of their show homes, and their customer service commitment.

Unfortunately our experience with Sorento as our builder was most disappointing primarily due to unfulfilled commitments and quality control issues throughout the build process. For example, incorrect blueprints were used when the footings were poured. As a result we have to park our truck at an angle in the garage. While we had requested floor drains in the garage, catch basins were installed instead. This means we have to manually pump them out. There were ongoing challenges with the quality of interior trim materials. We experienced heating and plumbing problems due to faulty installations.

We could go on. Suffice it to say there were issues with craftsmanship and lack of attention to detail. As such we have ongoing issues.
