I have lived in 3 Avenue Living buildings in Medicine Hat. I've also lived in some bad places before, but my experience last year in this apartment building is by far the worst I’ve ever had.
From day one, it has been nothing but stress, frustration, and neglect. If you value your health, safety, or even basic human decency, stay as far away from this place as possible.

1. Maintenance is Nonexistent:
The moment something breaks—and trust me, it will—expect months, if not longer, for it to get fixed, if it even happens at all. Leaky ceilings, broken appliances, and mold infestations are shrugged off as “minor issues” by the management. During my time there I had a bathroom sink broken for nearly three months, while every request for help had been completely ignored. They even had the gall to try to use my damage deposit for this repair AFTER I moved out. They could care less about the conditions you’re forced to live in.

2. Roaches, Rodents, and God Knows What Else:
This building is crawling with pests. I’ve woken up to bugs in my bed, ants all over the place and mice in main level the hallways. Forget about proper extermination services—management cuts corners and hires the cheapest people to spray ineffective chemicals. It's disgusting and unlivable. If you like sharing your space with vermin (and I don't mean your neighbors), this is the place for you!

3. Zero Accountability from Management:
The slumlord running this place, (Navdeep Singh) is impossible to reach, and when you do finally get ahold of someone, they’re rude, condescending, and utterly unprofessional. They constantly find ways to avoid responsibility, and good luck getting any reimbursement for your suffering. It’s like they’re running a money laundering scam instead of a housing business.

4. Unsafe Conditions:
The building is an absolute fire hazard. Electrical problems are everywhere, with flickering lights and faulty outlets in the laundry room. The hallways are dark, and sometimes entire sections of the building outside don’t even have functional lighting at night. When I was there, there was no visible fire escape plan, and there was never one posted even after calling and emailing a report to management. It feels like Avenue is waiting for a tragedy to happen before they even think about improving anything.

5. Constant Rent Increases:
I was blindsided by my agent, Sheila Marie Crocker. When moving into this apartment I was told there would be a $150 discount applied to my rent. I only found out on the day that I was MOVING IN and signing my paperwork that this reduction was only for 12 months and not permanent.
Despite the horrific living conditions, rent is constantly being increased by the maximum legally allowed amount. And for what? There are no upgrades or repairs, just a slow deterioration of the property. It’s a blatant cash grab, exploiting tenants who can’t afford to move out immediately, or immediately need somewhere to move to.

6. Loud Neighbors and Noisy Environment
Prepare to lose sleep. The walls are paper-thin, and you can hear everything. Granted, the quality of the apartments can't be blamed on Avenue as this building was around way before Avenue took ownership. That being said, whether it's late-night parties, screaming matches, or constant banging from the next apartment, management does nothing about complaints. If you need peace and quiet, forget it. And forget the problem ever being solved.

7. Security is a Joke
Doors are often left unlocked, and there are no security cameras in common areas. Mail gets stolen constantly, and I constantly worry about break-ins. This is not a safe place to live, especially if you have a family.

every thing should be in working order before someone moves in not by just noting the fault after the moving and then doing nothing about it
