After living in the area for six years, I finally discovered *The Carriage House*—and what a treasure it is! From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into something special. The atmosphere is cozy, the walls are adorned with beautiful local artwork, and the smell of delicious food fills the air.

We visited on a day with a tempting daily special: a calzone that was absolutely scrumptious—perfectly baked and full of flavour. We also tried their morning glory loaf, which was moist and just sweet enough, and sipped on a couple of refreshing local beverages.

A huge shoutout to Ava, who made our visit extra special. Her warmth and thoughtfulness really stood out—especially when she offered us metal spoons so we could enjoy our Belly butter tart ice cream without adding to plastic waste. We took the treats to the nearby park, soaked in the sunshine, and returned the spoons afterward.

This place is a must-visit—for the amazing food, the friendly service, the local art, and their clear love for community and the Earth. Don't wait six years like I did—go now!

If you are in the Northern Ontario and you see the sign for Powassan it is worth getting off the road and find the Carriage House for breakfast or lunch. They are a small family owned restaurant where passion and local is evident. Menu is limited, which accounts for the freshness of the food. We were lucky to be there for Pizza Friday. The pizza is cooked on a “Green Egg”. That takes a real talent to produce a perfect pizza. Crust was crisp, but so fluffy, sauce is the real thing. The sauce tastes like it was made by an Italian Nona. There is a good selection of pizza toppings. We ordered the Canadian and the toppings were plentiful.Be prepared to wait for your pizza as they are made to order and come piping hot. The owner is very passionate and eggar to talk to you about his food. We need to support these small businesses as they are the backbone of our communities. The money spend at these places stays in the communities not off to some corporate head office, mostly US owned.

This place is NEVER a disappointment.
We have been here multiple times and no matter what day of the week, time or season their quality is always on point.
We love the iced coffees, lunch specials throughout the week, and Sunday cinnamon buns are my fav.
Great local farm grocery to grab (The cranberry juice is awesome with carbonated water) and staff is always friendly.
The chef is very passionate and creative always bringing something new and interesting to the menu.
It's a hidden gem if your not local.
Definitely one of our go to spots.

Super thankful this restaurant exists! They don't have a lot of menu options but have a daily lunch special that I look forward to checking out almost every day! Their ingredients are sourced locally and are always as fresh as possible. They generally have pizzas on Friday but otherwise you can check their Facebook page to see what their lunch options are. Generally it's about $11 plus tax for their lunches. For breakfast they have breakfast sandwiches and excellent coffee options (hot and iced). Order/arrive early because they almost always seem to sell out! They also have fresh local produce, meat, eggs, cheese etc. available in the grocery section of the store. There's a small patio too. 10/10! My pictures don't do it justice

I always make a point to stop at The Carriage House Market whenever I’m in the Powassan area. Their breakfast sandwich is fantastic—really hits the spot in the morning. They also carry some great local finds like preserves, honey, and maple syrup. If you get the chance, swing by for a breakfast and coffee—perfect for a quick and tasty start to the day.

This place is so nice! I tried their breakfast sandwich, the apple muffin and the ice latte and it was really good especially the muffin! Will for sure continue to stop by when I'll be in the area!
