I was impressed by this mall. Not from the outside, because it looks abandoned and concreet is missing on sooner parts of the roads on the parking lot.
But many stores were open. Not like in many other malls where there's 1 open shop and then 6 closed ones.
We had a nice time strolling thru the mall and look in don't shops.
The central area with the food court was very nice, it remembered me to the old days where the mall was a gathering point for youth.

Prior to this visit, I hadn’t been to the Citadel Mall in years, and to be honest, I came here expecting the worse, but this mall seems to be in very good shape. I must say, generally speaking, this mall seems bigger than the others I’ve visited, and it still has a fair amount of stores. The mall was also very kept up and clean, and I felt safe here seeing lawn enforcement and security. This mall generally will meet your expectations for what you’d expect for a mall, there’s department stores, activities, food court, etc. overall I’d recommend the Citadel Mall, its kept up and convenient.

It has most of its stores open. However, quality can suffer in some of the larger chains stores ?Food court has basic options.
Summer Carnival ? in parking lot will hopefully boost business ?

Just moved here from Denver. I regret the fact that I took my baby’s here. I had no idea how many shootings this place has had in the last year alone. I come from central Denver and I feel safer on 16th street mall than I do here at the citadel mall. Please shut this place down. We are never going back. My girl was really loving our “new mall” but her safety matters more. The mall workers are literally people that just moved here from out of state. I feel like that’s a really disgusting thing to do. Hire young people from out of state so they don’t know their lives are at risk working at the arcade. I’m sick to my stomach. SHUT IT DOWN NOW.

Honestly I'm not really sure why some commenters are hating so much on this mall. It seems like a typical average American mall. Sure there are some closed storefronts, but there are still quite a few present - name brand as well as locally owned. Take a look at my pictures I literally just took today (14 Mar 17) to browse what's there. It looked pretty clean and modern to me, but then again I've been in some pretty run-down places in my life. Not a huge fan of the second story being kind of split in two, but meh. I saw a lot of people walking in and out of stores with leashed dogs, and not service dogs. Not sure what the pet policy inside is, but I assume they let people just bring dogs in freely, so if that's not a thing you like, maybe not the best shopping location for you. I went into Spencer's where I saw some teens... and also a whole wall of sex toys. I wasn't aware things had changed so much during the mere two years I spent in Japan, but hey I guess culture progression? The food court was fairly impressive to me, with a wide variety of choices, though staff training I'm beginning to realize in this area generally is underwhelming. I had to explain to a chocolate shop worker what a sampler was. I don't think my expectations are usually too high, but common knowledge isn't that difficult to obtain, is it? In any case, I wouldn't knock this mall without checking it out yourself, and you'll only be disappointed if you're used to major city expectations. If that's the case, then enjoy the drive to Denver 🙂

Couldn't recommend bringing your families here. 13 shootings in 8 years. Military members where recently prohibited from visiting the mall and for good reason as another shooting occurred today. If they can go more than two years without incident then maybe I'll comeback.

This mall is a shadow of what it used to be, there's literally homeless people begging for money right inside the mall not to mention the broken down cars and homeless living on the edge of the parking lot. So many of the stores are empty and half of the escalators are broken and out of order. This mall looks like it took a beating from the COVID days and never recovered, there's still social distancing stickers on the floor everywhere and broken tiles on the floors. I wouldn't waste my time going to this mall ever again, it's waiting for it's inevitable death. Just take the extra time and go to the Castle Rock Outlets.
