The Lake House - Madoc, Ontario

We recently stayed at The Lake House with four other families, and overall, it was a positive experience with a couple of improvements.

Pros:
1. Spacious Accommodation: The house is incredibly roomy. With multiple families, we never felt cramped. Everyone had their own space, which is a huge plus for large group getaways.

2. Beautiful Property: The house itself is stunning and well-constructed. It's clear that a lot of thought went into its design and layout.

3. Activities Galore: There's no shortage of things to do here. From water activities to indoor entertainment, the variety keeps everyone engaged.

4. Scenic Views: The location offers breathtaking views. The balcony and outdoor spaces are perfect for soaking in the natural beauty.

5. Family-Friendly: The property caters well to families, with amenities suitable for all ages. The provision of water toys and life jackets is a thoughtful touch.

Areas for Improvement:
1. Maintenance Issues: Some of the arcade games weren't functioning properly, which was disappointing.

2. Water Trampoline: The water trampoline wasn't fully inflated, rendering it unusable. This was a letdown, especially for the kids.

3. Lake Condition: The biggest drawback was the lake itself. Due to algae, tall grasses, and lake weeds, swimming wasn't really an option.

If you're looking for a roomy lakeside property for a large group, this place is ideal. However, if water activities are a priority, you might want to check about the current lake conditions before booking. With that said, the Lake House is still more than great for multi family cottage getaways so I'm still giving it 5 stars.

This cottage boasts a fun-filled arcade in the basement, complete with retro games and a table tennis area, making it perfect for a getaway with a downstairs entertainment area. Upstairs, the open-concept living and kitchen area offers a warm, inviting space, ideal for gatherings. The floor-to-ceiling windows flood the home with natural light throughout. Would definitely recommend this cottage for a Family friendly adventure.

This cottage was absolutely stunning. From the views of the deck to views from the dock. We had 13 of us adults and kids and was so great being able to stay in one house all together. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming in lake and even suntanning on one of the tiers below. We paid extra for the garage arcade and it was fun even for us adults to play at night time. This cottage has everything you need with minutes to a little town that has all the amenities such as groceries and ALCOHOL! lol. The owner Jeremy is such an amazing guy. Very easy to talk to and helps guide you to finding whatever you’d like to explore in the area. Can’t thank you enough Jeremy. Just talking to you made me feel like I’ve know you for a long time.

What a Gem of a getaway location this is. From the incredible arcade in the basement to the breathtaking cathedral ceilings in the living room, this is a must visit.
I would definitely return and recommend to my friends and family.

I was able to throw and amazing bachelor party at The Lake House over the Labour Day long weekend! The property was stunning, with beautiful surroundings and a great view.

The games in the basement were such a great idea and kept us entertained when we had some down time.

The cottage itself was incredibly spacious, providing plenty of room for everyone to relax and unwind. Whether we were lounging in the living room, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, enjoying the lawn for games, or the firepit at night, we never felt cramped. The bedrooms were comfortable and offered a peaceful retreat after a day of fun.

Jeremy and his staff were incredibly helpful, making sure that despite the previous guest leaving an awful mess that they cleaned the place just in time for us. We even had an incident with a phone getting stuck in the dock, but Jeremy got us the help we needed to retrieve it.

The only drawback for us was the inability to swim directly off of the dock, but that was due to how weedy it was, and we were able to find another spot to swim.

Would highly recommend this rental to anyone who asked.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the lake house cottage this weekend! The entire place is incredibly upgraded with modern amenities, making it feel like a luxury retreat. The full arcade for the kids was a major hit, keeping them entertained for hours! We also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the washrooms were. The deck was definitely the highlight for us, offering amazing view and the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at the Lake House was the perfect weekend getaway. With its cozy interior and an amazing arcade in the basement, it offers all the entertainment and comfort of home. The property is well-maintained and spotless throughout. The outdoor space, featuring stunning water views, is ideal for relaxing and enjoying activities. This lake house cottage exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the place is very upgraded, with all the latest features that made our stay extra comfortable. The kids had a blast with the full arcade and canoeing on the lake, while we loved grilling out on the BBQ. The washrooms were spotless, and the amazing deck provided stunning views for everyone to enjoy. It’s the perfect spot for a big family getaway. We went with two other families, and kids of all ages had the best time. Highly recommend for any large group!
