My husband and I are from the Calgary area and decided to make a trip to the Okanagan Valley / BC in May 2005. It has been our first experience with a Bed & Breakfast - our expectations were in every point exceeded. We found the wonderful Log Home B&B in Peachland, overviewing the Okanagan Lake, on a secluded and private 5 acre property. The house itself is impressive and stunningly beautiful. The comfortable and spacious king size rooms each has its own private bath with shower or tub, a TV with VCR/DVD. And Art - my husband - was able to check his emails with his Laptop - because the B&B offers an wireless high speed internet access. We enjoyed the delicious and hearty breakfast every morning on the large sundeck. Priska & Uli - our very warm and friendly hosts - made our stay a pleasure and we wish we could have stayed longer. We don't have a doubt about where we'll stay on our next visit to the Okanagan. We can only recommend to stay at the "Log Home Bed & Breakfast" in Peachland, Okanagan, BC!!

Our first visit to the Okanagon was made very special by the hospitality of the Laux family who own this wonderful, and unique property. My husband and I had fist saw the Log Home on the internet, and loved the design and amenities. The property is located on top of a mountain, and the Laux family designed and built it themselves. ||||We got lost traveling to the Okanagan, as we were coming from Vancouver Island. Our hosts, Uli, Priska, and Thomas could not have been nicer about our late arrival. Our room was very spacious, modern, and we have never seen a cleaner bathroom ever! Our hosts provided many tips on sightseeing and things to do, and even took us hiking on their property. We learned a lot about the Okanagan, and the local wildlife in the area as well. ||||Priska's breakfasts were healthy, and very filling. Clearly, the Laux's run the B&B for the experience of meeting new people, and they display their European sense of hospitality at every chance. We look forward to returning when we next visit B.C.

We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights with our 10 year old son. Having stayed at several B&B's, this was truly a unique and wonderful experience. From our first moment of entering this fabulous log home, we were greeted as special guests and felt right at home. Our hosts were very gracious, warm and inviting. The breakfast is not a "traditional" or "continental" breakfast, it was a "European" breakfast with delicious meats, cheeses, jams, fresh fruit, etc. While not a continental style breakfast, it's not a Denny's either. We felt very cared for and attention was paid to every detail. Our room was very comfortable, extremely clean and very cozy in decor. Our view from the huge balcony overlooked the lake and was spectacular. There is a shared living room area. The grounds were immaculate and the trees provided a genuine escape. We were provided with beach chairs, towels and appreciated these "extras". We left feeling sad to leave our newly found friends, Priska, Uli & Thomas. This is a one-of-a-kind oasis in Peachland which we would highly recommend and return.

Den Aufenthalt im "Log Home Bed & Breakfast" werden wir nicht vergessen. Einfach traumhaft. Das Blockhaus ist das Beste Quartier, das wir auf unserer Kanadareise vorfanden. Jede Minute haben wir genossen. Die Lage ist ruhig und man ist in wenigen in Peachland und am Okanagan Lake. ||Die Gastfamilie ist sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie scheut keine Mühe, um sich wie zu Hause zu fühlen.

This AMAZING and unique B&B was actually designed and built by the owners' son, Tommy, who is one of the hosts. It IS a log cabin, and a well built, bright, comfortable, and spacious one at that. The architecture is awe inspiring. ||||The log cabin is located on a private acreage, accessible via a long winding driveway which gave the B&B an exclusive, private feel. We hadn't even pulled up when Uli, one of the hosts, came outside with a big smile and wave. He greeted us and brought us inside to meet his wife Priska and son Tommy, and also showed us his friendly dog and cat (they were both very quiet during our stay and we hardly knew they were there). It was amazing how quickly they made us feel like a member of their family. We sat and talked for a long time and were simply amazed at their story - they came from Germany and built the log cabin by themselves, taking almost 2 years! They make you appreciate the fact that their B&B is not just a beautiful log cabin, but it's their home and while you're there, it's your home.||||They have 2 large, clean, and well maintained guest rooms with private bathrooms (including large deep tubs). The doors also lock from the inside for privacy - I should mention that we never felt we needed the lock but some people might find this important when booking a B&B. It's VERY quiet there and we had a great, restful sleep each night. When we opened our door the next morning, Priska had prepared a HUGE breakfast for us and the other couple - fresh fruits, yogourts, bread, butter, eggs, cheese, smoked salmon, juices, coffee, and tea. She even made sure that the smoked salmon was not at the other couple's table, as the husband was allergic. Everything was so delicious and believe me, you will NOT leave that table hungry! Too much food.||||Priska and Uli gave us a key to the front door so that we could come and go whenever we pleased, and we had a large guest area to enjoy including a fireplace, heated floors, large deck, TV, and high speed internet. To be honest, you'll probably spend a lot of time just gazing at the log cabin - it's that amazing to look at. One thing to note - bring your chequebook or cash because they don't have a credit card machine... honestly don't let this little thing keep you from staying here. There's an ATM only 5 minutes away in the grocery store. This B&B is just too good to pass up for such a trivial detail.||||It was very hard to say goodbye to Priska, Uli and Tommy. By the time we left, we felt like part of their family. We still do. We've never met such a friendly, warm, caring, hospitable family. Priska even loaned my wife her jacket on a cold day as she forgot to pack one. If you're looking for a B&B where you can enjoy wonderful stories and lots of laughs with a great family in a unique and private home, this is the place! ||||We will certainly stay here again the next time we visit the Okanagan. Wir verbrachen leider nur 2 Nächte in diesem absolut traumhaften Loghome. Man fühlt sich sehr willkommen und wird sofort fast wie ein Familienmitglied aufgenommen. Außerdem bekommt man noch alle möglichen Tipps für Unternehmungen gratis dazu - DANKE! Auch die Empfehlung für die Fahrt nach Revelstoke über den Arrow Lake war grandios, da macht auch eine lange Autofahrt Spaß. Das Frühstück ist besser als in jedem kanadischen Hotel, genau richtig für uns Europäer. Wir fuhren doch mit einem weinenden Auge wieder weg, und falls wir nochmals nach Kanada reisen, werden wir sicher wiederkommen. ||Viele Grüße Nicole & Kerstin

Ein toller Blick über den See, ein riesiges, traumhaft schönes Blockhaus und eine deutsche Auswandererfamilie, die mit viel Spaß und Freude an der Gastfreundschaft dem Reisenden Kanadas Land & Leute näher bringt und auch Einblicke "hinter die Kulisse" zulässt. Ein sehr empfehlenswerter B&B Aufenthalt geeignet als Zwischenstopp oder um in der Region zu verweilen. Unsere Kinder und wir haben uns fast als Teil der Familie gefühlt. Ein toller Aufenthalt - Vielen Dank Euch Dreien.

What a great B&B! We travelled through the province of B.C. and we experienced many B&Bs. All other B&Bs we've visited are old fashioned and in the typical GB style. THIS is not modern and absolutely not European Style. The Log Home B&B is very European and very modern. We had our own luxury Flat TV and the beds and linen are European and keep warm (if needed) and are very clean. The bathrooms ensuite are great and clean. We can really recommend this B&B to all who are looking for privacy, luxury, great breakfast and great hospitality!
