With Thomas acting as our eyes and ears, we bought a condo from 375km away! (Good eyesight Thomas --- you used What'sAp like Spielberg would.) His casual but professional style really suited us and made the buying experience gratifying instead of grinding. Punctual, attentive to details, flexible to fit our schedule. I would give a 6-star review if I could! The home buying process can be stressful (and at times it was) but Tom was there for us and had our backs every step of the way. During the process we must have toured 30 homes before we found ours. Tom did not try and talk us out of viewing any of the homes we requested, he was actually always there waiting in the driveway ready to let us in every time. During the process we crossed paths with other potential home buyers and their realtors, and you can instantly tell we made the right decision. Other realtors were following their clients around the house reading off a page that the selling realtor left behind. Whereas Tom was checking the foundation, looking in crawl spaces, checking the AC unit, pipes, looking to see if the house was up to code, and scoping out the area for schools and what was in the area. Anyone can unlock the front door and read off of a pamphlet. Tom is a Jack of all trades and has built a couple well known restaurants in the Windsor area which is a good quality to have as a realtor. Quick story- We thought we found the one! There was a park right across the street for our little one and it was a nice quite area, but the house needed a bit of work, to us it was a good choice…..or so we thought. Walking through with Tom we found that there was a leak in the downstairs shower that when it was turned on, would leak into the downstairs living room and into the master bedroom. If he didn't do the digging, he did on all 30 homes we would have bought something that would of cost us at least $50-$80k to rip out all the mould and water damage. That would of been a nightmare if he had a realtor that was just eager to sell homes and make money. Another thing I loved about dealing with Tom (and this happened at least 5 times during our search) we would walk through the house and Tom would do some digging and he would come back to us and say, “I wouldn’t buy this house” and then proceed to show us all the damage or neglect on the property. That went a long way in my books because we asked him to view the house because we liked what we saw in the photos. He would then set up the showing and drive out to meet us and then tell us not to buy the house. In the end we found the perfect house for us. It is 4 mins away from work for both of us and we are in the best school district Windsor has to offer. Tom’s negotiation skills are top notch as well, sure all the stuff mentioned above is important, but you want someone who is going to ask the hard questions and get you more money for your property and save you money on the listing you are buying. It really is important who you pick to be your realtor and you are in good hands if you select Tom.
