We enjoyed our stay in our camper trailer. The location is nice because it's right by the water and not far from Gunnison. The campground is nice and taken care of. The restrooms were clean but the shower mats need better cleaning. We were disappointed that we were delayed in getting to the campground since we drove from Colorado Springs and when we got there they were closed and their policy states if you arrive after the sun sets you need to stay in the parking lot until 9am the next morning. We understand it was our fault for being so late but we called 5 times to let them know and never reached anyone. They left our paperwork in the box but it said we were staying at a site that was already used so we had to sleep in our trailer in the parking lot with no water or electricity. It was very inconvenient but overall the site is nice. We just wish there was a better policy if people are late.

Nice location. Got a spot up top by the cabins so we could see the lake. Internet never worked. Showers were really old and not clean, so bring your own. Our kids enjoyed the pools and arcade center. We had a free pass that came with our new trailer. We'd come here again if it was free, but might venture someplace new next time.

Besides being surrounded by unparalleled beauty and lovely amenities, the surprising advantage to this campground is for big rigs with 50 amp service. The larger sites are marked “closed”, and they require permission from the office to get one! No more small campers hogging all the larger sites!! That makes this campground SO NICE for us!! 50 amps and plenty of room even though the camp was very full when we arrived! The 30 amp spaces are first come first chosen.

This is the second Thousand Trails park we have stayed at. The park is in very good condition, the high-desert sites are quite large, and they have some sites tucked away in the woods for smaller gear and tents. Most sites are 30 amps. There are 8 new washers and dryers that take 8 quarters per cycle. There is a nice activity center, an indoor pool and an outdoor one, and both were open. Kids fishing area. Here in a 30 foot travel trailer in July. Aside from struggling with acclimation to 8500 feet, it has been great.

It is nice to have a thousand trails in Colorado. As the other one in Golden is not part of our plan. The sites are all different sizes. It is find your own site which is nice. All the 50amp sights are booked or have annuals in them. Most of the park seems to be annuals staying until October. The sites are lacking in what you would expect. Some have rock, but most are dirt. It's been raining this year so just turns to mud. Not all sites are wide to have good space if you have opposing slides. The office staff is OK. They remind me of staff at Sherwood Forrest in Florida, here only if it suits them. I understand the 5 dollar package fee, this is the first park that charges for coach parts and medical packages. Definitely not as traveler friendly unless your an annual. I don't believe that we would come back. I hope TT decides to put effort into this resort. It could be very nice. Just a FYI internet and phone service here is really nonexistent. Seems starlink works well though. Photos show location this is the only reason for 3 stars is the views are pretty good.

Stayed at RV sites last summer and returned this summer. We have stayed at plenty of thousand trails and this is a great location. No cell service as you are in National Recreational Area. Expect natural campsites. Sage and wildflowers all over.

They have two pools. Indoor and outdoor.

Not sure why there are any complaints at this park. We love it! We are seasonal summer RVers and we love this park and the proximity to Gunnison Main Street as well as the beautiful Crested butte. Don’t forget the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park. Across the street is the Blue Mesa Reservoir if you love paddling or boating.

All within less than an hour drive.

Recently acquired by Thousand Trails, Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch, this is one of my favorite places, and it's the people (aside the fact that it's in the mountains, right across the highway from Blue Mesa Reservoir).

Thousand Trails admin could visit the property and assess (the cabins, specifcally) for updates. Window treatments are faded and/or brittle, screens need to be replaced on some windows and patio doors and curved curtain rods for the showers would make showering much easier. The cabin we stayed in (#74) had a lop-sided dining table and 2 of the 4 chairs were in such disrepair (Duct taped together) that we were afraid to sit in them.

We really love this Thousand Trails RV park. The staff is kind and they're always helpful or otherwise doing something to improve the park residents' day. The weekly craft show and sale is lovely. They also offer coffee and doughnuts on Saturday mornings.

The fact that there are constantly events of some sort - games, chili for Father's Day, karaoke, etc. - is great. We really loved the indoor pool and hot tub. And we loved Gunnison and the surrounding area; try the Silver Thread Trail by car, the Alpine Loop via Lake City (we recommend renting an ATV or Jeep - it's pricey but cheaper than car repairs if something goes wrong on the Loop - do your research!), and Crested Butte - there's a dragon there! And definitely visit the Gunnison Valley Observatory; it's very cool and a terrific deal. We haven't visited Gunnison's canyon yet due to the bridge outage*. We travel with a boat, so it was amazing to have a couple boat ramps so close to camp.

We didn't have one second of issues with utilities, and we had 50 amp with full hookups. Sites are first-come-first served; our best advice is to arrive mid-week if you want the most options. However, we didn't try the camp WiFi (we have Starlink). Without using our internet to make calls, we did have issues with cell coverage. Not a big deal if you're visiting to 'get away from it all'.

We'll definitely return to this site. Thanks, y'all!

* not really an issue if you're arriving from the east/Gunnison
