The Toronto Community Housing Corporation is located at 176 Elm Street. It is responsible for processing applications for low-income individuals and families. There are not many staff members, but they are very polite and kind. After asking about the purpose of the visit, they will take the initiative to help solve the problem. Not bad 👍👍👍

多伦多社区住房公司位于 176Elm 街,这里负责办理,低收入个人与家庭申请,工作人员不多,但很礼貌及友善,问明来意后,就主动帮忙解决问题,不错👍👍👍

"I've been waiting for 10 years for an opportunity with Toronto Housing. They first offered me an apartment, but when I went to see it, they told me it was only for women and rejected me. Two months later, they offered me another apartment. When I went there, they accepted me and gave me a form to fill out. After I filled out the form at home, I called them the next day to submit it. That's when they told me, 'Sorry, we have bad news. This apartment is just for someone who has a wheelchair.' In the beginning, they saw that I didn't have one and didn't mention anything about this restriction.

This experience felt like they were playing with my emotions. They were not professional at all. They sent me to buildings that were clearly not meant for me, which makes me wonder why they even offered them in the first place. Now, I'm feeling very depressed, tired, and completely drained because of all this.

What happened wasn’t just unprofessional—it was deeply disrespectful. The staff at Toronto Housing must take more responsibility. They should know exactly who they're offering units to and make sure those units are actually suitable. Sending people to places that aren’t meant for them is careless and harmful. This kind of behavior isn’t just a mistake—it shows a lack of respect for people’s time, dignity, and emotions. No one deserves to be treated this way."

Shameful service. The receptionists are incompetent, downplay the problems, and waste tenants’ time. Toronto Community Housing receives government subsidies to deal with infestations, yet refuses to pay for real exterminators. Result: bedbugs are still present, with treatments improvised by the concierge (powder above electrical outlets – fire hazard!). The concierge gives up before solving the problem. This is a blatant mismanagement of public funds: money intended for sanitation is not used for professional and effective interventions. The more you ask for help, the more they will humiliate you.

This place is a disaster. I applied for housing at this place by January 23, 2023. I haven't heard anything yet for the past year. When I asked about my status for housing the guy says I have to wait for housing by 8 years. That was in July. The staff doesn't care about me. They decided to ignore me. I received an orange letter saying that I have to hand in my notice of assessment. I did. I photocopy the NOA for them and still nothing..

Was recently selected as a winner for a cycle. Recieved a call from housing connections informing me it was a mistake. Housing connections then proceeded to contact the housing provider and told them not to offer me the housing. This was no mistake, housing connections is not to interfere with the system that is to randomly select an applicant based on the factors of that particular application and others. They’re picking and choosing themselves who they want to receive housing first and what building location they will get. I’m currently filing a complaint with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and I encourage everyone who has been waiting years for housing to do the same and shed light on to this. They’re cherry picking files and you could be a victim to this.

This housing center really needs to work on helping their customers more. My dad has been waiting for 12 years and he still haven't gotten a place yet. I think that one of the employees was on the phone with him and they told him to buy a hotel room. A HOTELREALLY!? What kind of moron tells someone who needs a place to get a hotel room!? Honestly, that just shows you don't care about your customer's needs and concerns and you just want them to be out of your way. IF YOU GAVE PEOPLE WHAT THEY ASKED FOR, THEY WOULDN'T BE BOTHERING YOU ALL THE TIME! If you can't understand what they want, ask them again. Simple. Don't just ignore them and expect everything to be fine for them. This is why people don't trust these kinds of places because they lie to their own customers. The employees here need to get better.
