I have attended many of their estate liquidations and found them to be very helpful to the buyers and efficient for their clients.

I have read many of the negative reviews and feel they were written mainly by people making wrong assumptions about their agreement with their clients, or by people thinking they offer grief services.

Wayne's job is to get EVERYTHING sold and cleared out of the house in 2-3 days. They handle everything. No one else offers this service. If that is not what you are looking for, go somewhere else. If that IS what you are looking for, Wayne and his team are the best.

They also treat their buyers well and their prices are negotiable. I highly recommend them.

Sanity savers. Wayne and his team were amazing from start to finish. We were faced with what seemed like an impossible task of clearing out our parents home and were looking at what we thought could be months of chaos and hours of sorting and cleaning and many trips to the island . Wayne explained everything from set up to clean up and kept in constant contact throughout. This was especially important for us, being from out of town. He exceeded our expectations and left us relieved and able to move on. He even located family heirlooms and photos that were missed and shipped them. We cannot express our gratitude more for the kind and thoughtful service they afforded our family. Thank you so much.

I love when Vancouver Island Estate Liquidators has an event in Nanaimo, because my inner treasure hunter gets all fired up and I always find something cool. Like this gorgeous Carnival Glass fruit bowl & souvenir boomerang from Australia that my grandkids find interesting, and a reminder of my visit to the outback town of Muckadilla in 1979. Plus, I get a chance to socialize with some interesting people that I meet there, and say Hi to Wayne and Thea.

I recently had Wayne and his team help with a downsizing of long time family home. The sale went very well and I was please with how things were handled. There were still documents in the house and all were put aside, the house was left clean and ready to list for sale.

I had the misfortune of attending an estate sale hosted by this company on Mallard Rd. I felt heart broken for the loved ones of the deceased home owner(s). I followed homemade garage sale signs to find a very big dumpster in the driveway. Making my way to the front door wide open and the person's belongings scattered throughout the house with no regard for the fact that these once belonged to and where treasured by the departed. Books dumped on the floor ( tripping hazard) I guess the book shelf sold and they couldn't be bothered to take a minute to stack the books nicely against the wall. Another room had a big garbage can in the middle letting everyone know where the unsold items will end up.It was really tacky the way there was green painters tape everywhere with "your choice $2" scribled on it and stuck to the wall above an overflowing tables set up everywhere so people had to walk sideways around then. Even in the bathroom $2 for used items like a bottle of shampoo. Did the people working for this company have a late night and oversleep? Had no idea who was running the sale until I heard a lady walk away from the cash register and go over to a man (who was more interested in playing on his phone) "there's already over a thousand dollars in the till." Not the smartest thing to do when the till is right next to the wide open front door and the house was full of bargain hunters, and nosey neighbors. Most people I witnessed left without buying anything. The whole house had a feeling of sadness. Even the bed in the master bedroom looked as though it had just been slept in. Usually at an estate sale the beds are either made up or all the bedding has been removed, washed and folded to be sold. I am disappointed that this company is only interested in making money with no regard or respect for the family of the deceased.

Went to their estate sale and will never go back again. Found myself teetering through, almost tripping over hallways and rooms teeming with overpriced junk. I can understand the need to sell volume fast, but the lack of organization and the utterly astronomical prices was embarrassing to witness. I should add how unpleasant the two women estate sale workers I spoke to were. The ONLY nice individual was the man, who was friendly and insightful. Do not recommend.

Everything in this review is of my own opinion: The lady conducting the Mallard Road Estate Sale (Parksville/Qualicum Beach) today was extremely rude to me when I attempted to spend money at the sale. I found her behaviour to be extremely unprofessional. I found most of the stuff was extremely marked up in price, even higher than the local thrift store would charge, or marketplace and ebay. It was dangerous moving through the house in certain areas, someone had purchased a book shelf and the books looked as if they were just dumped on the floor (tripping hazard) in a big pile. I didn't notice anyone from this company having a real presence in the home, or looking after all the rooms. If I was a thief I could have easily stolen a lot of items today (but I didn't).

The street signs announcing the sale were really pathetic, home made, and generic. I found the whole operation was run extremely unprofessional and more of a gong-show in my opinion. It also raises some questions in my mind with this companies business practices. For example; what about the fiduciary duty to the client that hired them to conduct the sale? Where is this companies duty of utmost good faith? If this company is being hired to liquidate estates, why not have the prices reflect that and unload it at an affordable rate (putting money into the clients pocket)? Or is this company intentionally setting high prices so it doesn't sell and the staff can take what is left over? Who knows Right? What if property goes missing from theft because staff are not looking after the sale with proper supervision? What if someone trips over the stacks of books and now they sue this company and the estate?

I will never, ever, attend another one of this companies estate sales. If you are located away from the Vancouver Island, do your research before you hire any company. Check their 1 star reviews. The 5 star reviews could potentially be fake.
