Very disappointed with Whistler Premier property management! We booked what looked like a beautifully updated 2 bedroom unit with great looking furniture at Lost Lake Lodge through VRBO. It was rather expensive, at $655 a night for three nights, but it was a special occasion, so we didn’t mind the splurge. Unfortunately, on Friday afternoon arrival, we were told the unit we booked was no longer available. Whistler Premier put us into unit with an identical floor plan, but without any updates whatsoever. The furniture looked to be at least 30 years old. It had ugly beige wall-to -wall carpeting and outdated kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures.The mattresses felt like cardboard and the pullout sofa bed was unusable. We complained immediately, and were told that “management would take care of compensation and we could talk to them on Monday “. Ultimately, management did unilaterally compensate us with a small $370 price reduction, which was far less than fair for the very dated and drab unit they gave us. The most frustrating thing about the experience is that we learned, after the fact, that VRBO wouldn’t help us either. This is because according to VRBO’s policy we needed to complain to them first, and to have refused to move into this inferior accommodation. Whistler Premier, as the “host” took it upon themselves to sort out their booking error and they did so inadequately . We stayed in an inferior unit based on their promise to fairly compensate us, which they didn’t. Whistler Premier pulled the old “bait and switch” on us. You can only fool us once!
